What makes her any worse than Aguilera/Simpson/Moore? Or, since you mentioned the 80's--, Lisa Lisa, Pebbles, Tiffany & Debbie Gibson? It's the same sleaze recycled, but isn't that typical of the whole industry? Young girls with good bods sell albums, period.

It's all bad. But it fills a need, obviously, else the records wouldn't sell. The way I see it, if there weren't people on this planet with putrid musical taste, I wouldn't be able to feel so damn superior.

The only things that turn me off Britney as a person is her god-awful accent and the way she chooses to dress when her wardrobe folks don't help her out. Saw a pic of her at an airport where she wore, no joke, a knee-length plaid skirt and a striped sweater. Oh, and she doesn't know who Yoko Ono is. That's pretty ignorant. Beyond that, whatever. I kinda feel bad for her because she's one of those kids who the parents groomed to be famous from a young age. She was bred to be vapid, shallow, and smiley. She had no choice in the matter.

Ah kindred spirits. I too do not like the little Pop Tart. It is because of the many well put things already said and her lies about her sexuality. This had political vibes for me because the Moral Majority use her as a pin up babe for abstinence. As a health educator I have to fight this crap all the time. Kids are given a steady stream of her blatant sexuality gyrating in their faces and then told, "Britney is saving it you can too." Yeah, tell that to the chubby the kid just popped watching her video. Or explain to the young teen girl that dressing like Britney is NOT an appropriate look for school.
