i have had lots of experience in Asian dungeons and have and nejoyed most of the BDSM arts over short periods of 5-12 hour sessions. Now, i am thinking of being branded. THis thought has been constantly with me for over a year. i want a little brand somewhere and to go through the experience with the right Domme. Does A/anyone have expereince with this?

i am not branded but it is something Master and i have talked a great deal about. but i don't think it's something you should just 'jump' into, and should be done for a Dom/mme that you've been with for a long time and plan on being with for even longer. just my two cents

We have done it...you might find some interesting discussions around such things here . There are also others on the forum who have experience and knowledge who will hopefully check in here.

My master has said that he will brand me once we are married. I both love and fear the idea. I love the idea of wearing his mark forever, but the idea of burning flesh makes me nerlvous. I have thought but have not had the chance to ask about substituting a tatoo. It seems to cover the basic idea while getting rid of the burning flesh thing.

i am interested in branding but i definately think that it has to be done for the right person. Branding, as far as i know, is permanent...even moreso than a tatoo.

My personal experiences, so far, are limited to temporary branding done with a violet wand or by "water branding"

I will say this. Tattoo's can be removed with lasers and perhaps other techniques, or they can be reworked, drawn over, etc. But a brand that causes 3rd degree burns of the flesh, or a 2nd degree burn that scars, will be a permanent mark on your body. You can not make it go away. You might hide it or cover it, but it will be with you forever. There is no going back or "do over".

Do not consider getting a brand lightly. Do not get a brand done by someone who is clueless. You might get one from someone who has never done a brand before but you need to make bloody damn sure they've learned from someone who is experienced and knowledgeable in the chosen branding technique and will, prefereably, be on site during the branding to observe, guide and supervise the process.

Be aware of your skin type and healing process/rates. A brand is a burn and will heal like a burn. It produces scar tissue if a permanent brand is done. Does your body produce keloids when you scar from a cut? If so, you'll get them from a brand probably.

If you and yours desire an intricate, complicated pattern, the thinner the metal you use for the brand, the better. Scars from branding tend to be larger than the brand itself because the heat damage travels through the surrounding skin a bit. Also consider using multiple branding sessions to build the brand over time if it is complicated. Strike part of it, allow that to heal, strike another part of it, allow that to heal, etc, until the entire design is done. Simple patterns can be done in a single strike and don't necessarily need to be very thin.

Good luck!
