Branching Out Redux

Hello and Good Morning all!

Well then toni I hope you enjoy your weekend! I used to work nights, and one weekend a month - I loved nights, but it works better for my family to work days. Ugh early mornings of getting up when I am used to going to bed.

Hi ya Emmie, I had a fantastic day. I was able to spend some time with a dear friend and my house is clean - life is good. I hope your day is wonderful.

Hello A-man, and welcome!

thanks, I hate working nights/weekends. I am a single parent and my son has to stay with my dad at night and he has to take him to school because I don't get home in time. I work the weekends when he is off. And my days off are filled with helping him with homework, can't ever go and do anything! :( But hopefully it will not be this way forever. I would love to work days again. I don't really like getting up early, but once I do, I am ok. I have worked nights for 7 1/2 years and still never really got used to it. I can't really sleep during the daytime! But it was either work all night or go in before he gets out of school and work until about 11 at night. I would never see him then. Sometimes when he has hockey games, it is pretty rough, I have to get ready for work and then get him/us to the game and then drop them off and go to work! But I am thankful that I have a job, even if it is one that really sucks!

im trying to branch out cept its with the same people..LOL
Islander I have seen you before and think your most witty

so im say hello to all I know and islander as my new person

Oh toni - I do so understand your plight. How old is your son? I am a single parent as well, two boys. It can be so exhausting and frustrating - yet so uplifting and rewarding at the same time. Finding time for one's self is always difficult - I usually have to take some time now and again or I think I would go nutsybobo. It is never easy though.

Hi ya Emmie - my day has been delightful! I hope yours has been as well.

Hello Mind and welcome! Hopefully there will be people you don't know and haven't met yet to mingle with.

Hi ya rosie! I am fantastic, would only be better if I won the lotto.
I hope all is well with you.

So anyone "humping" on hump day? Silly me.. if they were, the wouldn't be here eh?

Hello and Good Morning all!

Hi ya A-man - I didn't sleep much last night, so my evening was long. Sadly nothing fun, just insomnia.

SS! I am in a drought as well - damn I wish someone would bring me some.. uhm.. water!

Hello all!

Emmie - I am sure that the best you can do would be more than enough. Are you from Chicago? I went to a concert there when I was in college. Fun town!

A-man - slept like a log last night, exhaustion finally caught up. Hopefully you had a good experience too - sleep is a wonderful thing!

Happy Friday everyone!

My son is 11. He is a great kid, most of the time. He does great things at church, he loves elderly ppl and babies or kids in general but especially babies. He is well mannered, except with me sometimes. Yesterday was not a very good day for us. He came home with bad grades on his report card. I grounded him, won't let him play hockey,etc... he told me he hated me but by the time I left for work he was ok. He told me he loved me! I hate this so much some times. I really feel like he takes advantage of the situation at times, but I feel like I have really let him down in alot of ways too!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Hugs and kisses to all!

Hello all!

Nothing overly exciting planned for the weekend for me. I may weather-proof my house, or at least get the supplies to do so. It gets damned cold around these parts.

toni - I think as parents we are always searching for what we need to do, what we should do, and how to be a better parent, just remember not to focus on that as much as what you have done, and the ways that you are a great parent. It is always a balancing act - we do the best we can, and it usually works out pretty good. Sounds like he is a decent kid!

Anyone have yummy plans this weekend?

I have noticed that most people post in pretty much the same threads or same types of threads. Typically people only get to know a handful of people but notice some posters and never get a chance to say hello.

So here is the chance. A free for all type of setting giving those who hadn't found a niche or who wanted to "branch out" and meet more people a place to do so.

It can be intimidating to "branch out" and meet new people, as many stay in the same types of threads with people they have become comfortable with and most threads have gotten so long with the same group dynamic it is hard to fit into it after it has went of for thousands of pages.

The first "branching out" thread went really well. It was started almost a year ago, and has grown to intimidating proportions - thus the redux.

So hello to those who would like to branch out and meet someone new - or say hi to someone that they don't post with often but have noticed.

Hi everyone! Just 'branching out' to say hello and hopefully find new friends. :)

Thanks, I aspire to be a wit someday but they won't let me register to vote as such in this state.
Nice to meet you;)
