Remember that thread asking how many pairs of shoes you have? (I have too many.) Even worse, I just emptied my closet of the EMPTY shoe boxes. There were 15 of them! On a positive note, my closet is much less cluttered now.

Tip for the day: Don't save your shoe boxes. You'll never actually use them to wrap a gift in, even if you think you might.

Don't save the boxes?

Are you sure that I'll never use the 163 shoe boxes that I've saved over the last 20 years? Sounds preposterous!
*shaking head in doubt* You must own stock in some box company.:D

i have only one shoe box

and it is an oldie. i have had it since the 60's LOL.
nothing special about it except that i have my toy robot in it and i have never stored it in anything else.

lol Batter the more I stalk you the more you intrigue me. A toy robot?

I have 7 shoe boxes in my closet, and they are all stored in a steamer trunk. I found them handy for storing letters and photos. As for empty shoe boxes, well, they came in handy shipping the tiny boxes out this year.

yep, it is a toy robot.

i checked the newspaper in the shoebox when i took the pic.

After i finished school and got my first professional job, i splurged and bought a pair of really good walking shoes. The box was especially sturdy and, over time, has become the place in which i keep my sewing junk. (I don't sew, not really. All i ever do, all i've ever done, is replace lost buttons and sew little holes closed before they become big holes.) Anyway, i still have that shoe box but only cuz it metaphosed into something else as soon as i took the shoes out. I'm not a saver of stuff.

you all know what will happen now dont you?
you are going to throw out/ recycle the boxes and then BOOM!!
you will need a shoebox to send something or to store something.

never fails does it?

Then you just go to the package store and get them to (a) box it up for you and (b) sent it out, too - all for one low price. Meanwhile, your shelves will be everlastingly grateful for the breathing room.

Nice picture Batter. Cute robot. Ok I gotta ask this ... which can first the tee shirt or the title line? :D ;) :D

Hey--If you really like shoeboxes for sending packages, instead of saving yours, just stop in Payless and ask for their empties. I do this now and it has helped me with my clutter problem.

(Now...what to do with my magazine collection?)

(Oh--I already have a solution, I take them to the dr's office or hospital and just leave them for the patients.)

(Your local blood bank, rest home, and elementary school might like them, too.)

(Hi BG. Missed you.)

Did I mention that my house was also buried for a long time with boxes I got when people shipped my eBay purchases to me? Or that I buy probably 95% of my stuff online, so I'm always getting these big boxes shipped to me? A box shortage isn't something I worry about. :D

I think I'm down to a collection of empty boxes that maybe numbers 10 or 12. Those are for gift wrapping. None a one is a shoe box. :)

p.s. My closet shelves are approaching empty! Now I just need to clean the rest of the crap out and get it over to Goodwill. That will just have to wait until after the holidays though.

The local Methodest Chirch uses shoe boxes to hold toiletry items for thier anual " gifts for the homeles " program. Thet also provide sleeping space on several nights a week durring winter mounths.

Hmmm... haven't seen any requests for donated shoe boxes lately. Too late now anyway, mine are all flat as a pancake and ready to be recycled.

I have thrown away my shoe boxes for a while now. If I really want a shoe box for something, I just buy a new pair of shoes. No problem.

and, if they are pornographic, I am sure the fertility clinics would like them...or the men only club of "urology."

which came first? the t-shirt then the title line.

and the robot was put away in 1969 when we moved. i had actually had that robot way, way, way, before that. LOL
got it as a Christmas gift when i was a wee lad. LOL

Oh my gosh, this is way too funny - I save shoeboxes too. I always have this fear that I won't have one when my son announces that he has a project that needs to be done and a shoebox will be needed for that.

Finally, I was able to let some go by way of the trash, but as I flattened them for recycling, my fingers started to shake because I just knew that the next day I'd be so sorry I threw them all away.

But, being the good shoebox addicted person that I am, I did have 3 hidden away just in case. lol

Does this mean we have a problem with being able to let go of things? lol

hehe... did I mention that I found a couple of boxes with new shoes still in them while I was sorting and tossing? So, I have 3 boxes left, too, with shoes. An emergency supply if needed. :)

Cheyenne,

That's like finding buried treasure. So now, what will you do when you take those shoes from their happy little boxes? Will you save or throw? Oh, I know that's such a tough question, but you can do this, you really can. lol

Have a most beautiful day!

Confession, I found a 4th box with brand new shoes this morning stuck on the floor underneath a rack of dresses. Oops.
