I think that a person who intends to harm anyone they dislike with racist remarks is indeed a racist. It IS the mentality. It wasn't friendly, it was gross and it seems pretty obvious to me that Rob was having a go.

To say that attacking someone with racist remarks is a tool and has no bearing on their mentality sounds like you're trying to find a loophole to excuse the fact that it is racism. Fail.

i guess we will... not that i ever suggested it was made as a 'joke' or 'friendly'. not even sure where that came from. i thought i was quite clear that using racist language to attack someone is not a thing to be condoned, applauded, or encouraged.

the first isn't right, acceptable, funny, or any other 'excuse' and i've never said it is. i am entirely anti-racism and always have been for as long as i've been aware of the concept... which is a long long long long time. i've been active in anti-racist activities since being in school; i've physically put myself in harm's way defending people of one colour skin from those of another. i have actively taken on workplace inherent racism; i've taken customers to task for expressing their racist views in my hearing.

my mother taught me ALL people are people; like cats, we come in different colours but we're still 'cats', sharing all the same elements of catness. i will NEVER excuse racism. i used to get along on the forum here with AJ... till his blatant racism regarding the haitians opened my eyes to his ugliness and so i asked specific questions to clarify the situation, then called the fucker out on it. if rob had said the same things, displaying his core beliefs about a certain set of people being 'less than human' in his eyes, i would have behaved EXACTLY the same way.

people who may choose to call me an apologist for a racist are either deliberately misrepresenting my position or have such a fixed black&white view on a topic they're unable to see there are always shades. there IS no BLACK and WHITE. we're all the result of blends.
