Finding one isnt the problem, getting the loan is :(

I am not picky at this point, something that is reliable, can fit my kids in it and gets good gas mileage,,,,,,,,, oh and cheap, lol

Wish you were closer to me, a good friend of mine is a car salesman. He looks to find the right fit for his customer. Both in vehicle and financing....

I am trying to decide if I want to invite my dad to come along with me or not,,,,,,, really want to do this on my own, but wouldnt mind him being there just in case I need a co-signer,,,, but only if he is willing to be one, if not then he doesnt need to be there, lol

Go without your Dad at first. The dealer will always look for a cosigner if there may be a question on the credit of the buyer.

But they can look for alternatives too.... They do that for a living.......

Don't let the dealer try to tell you, you have to sign now. It will be there tomorrow. Don't let them rush you. Don't do anything if you aren't comfortable.

And is Dad a good mechanic? You should ALWAYS take some one mechanically inclined with you to look the vehicles over.:D

Is even better if YOU are mechanically inclined. I always take our friend Stacy with me so she can mess up the saleman's face. 6' Tall and Mechanically inclined as well:)

I dont do anything I dont think is right,,,,,,,, I have done my homework, I have an idea of what the prices should run and I know what my payments should be for the price I am looking at,,,,,,, yeah, I was leaning more towards going on my own also,,,, thanks :)

My dad is NOT mechanically inclined and I dont know too much about cars either, but I like to mess with their heads and open the hood, ask what type of engine, how many liters it is,,,,,, really messes with their heads when they think I know what I am talking about ;)

(Giggle) Poor men:D They get so confused when a girl knows cars better than they do:)

I agree with that, of course you could be too. I know when I bought my airplane, and later a mechanic was looking it over he said I did a good purchase. I had studied and I do have an engineering degree too. That does help.

Height does have an infuence. On the other hand, as you put it her being there may get the salesman's mind on the wrong track... ;)

That is the way to do it. Make them think you know what you want, and like you said you have done your homework, and may know more about that car than they do... They don't know every car on the lot.

They can be so cute when confused though. ;)

I used to have a plane. I had to sell it. Medical reasons made me have to do that... :(

It was a fun plane. Could fly upside down and everything. :D

(Giggle) Or out here:D

It wasn't that kind of plane. It was an aerobatic one. It would take several days to get to that coast from the midwest....

And to get across the mountains in it... Sheesh!!!

Thank you Sis!! Hey, how many people get a private pilot's licence. Then buy an airplane, and then fly competition aerobatics. I was fortunate enough to be able to do that. :D

Never did more than Sportsman level competition, but I did as well as 2nd a couple of times. :)

I am afraid of airplanes, so you are much braver then I am :D

I might have been able too.

You know what is funny about flying. I took some friends up for a ride at times. If they were nervous, once we got out of traffic and had some altitude I'd show them how and let them fly. It does relax people to know what is being done to turn and all....

There is a bit more to flying than that, but it did help. :D
