This was such a bad idea she knew it was but someone in her family told her she needed to date. Ruby was not the kind of girl to want this she was quite and right now the thought of meeting someone was terrifying to her. Now? She just wanted to shrivel up and die. But her mother had begged her to go, she had a friend of a friend who she was set up with. So she did what anyone would do, she was told to meet him at a certain restaurant.

She was in a small black dress, her soft grey eyes looking around. She felt so stupid in this outfit, and there was nothing that could happen here. But right now it came to the point where she was sipping on a soda. Being to young to drink, she grew lost in the crowed. The tabled had been reserved so her date would be able to find her, but she kept her eyes to the ground. She was nervous and terrified, she did not know why she let her mother boss her around.

Spencer Robinson was a self-made millionaire. He owned a very successful company that sold consumer electronics to various businesses. That and due to some great investments, he was able to make a lot of money. He had a nice home in the suburbs and a good life. He didn't go out much, but for some reason he got talked into going out on a blind date. He arrived at the restaurant at the designated time. The hostess escorted him to the table and he saw his date for the first time. The first thing he noticed was her long dark red hair. He was a sucker for redheads. He was wearing a navy blue suit and tie with a blue button up shirt. He walked up to the table, "Hi Ruby? I'm Spencer..."

Ruby grew lost about everything and right now? She just did not seem to care about much, but smiling a little bit she looked up into the eyes of the man who spoke her name, within seconds the world seemed to stop around her. He was gorgeous she always had a thing for older men, she nodded and she smiled. "Nice to meet you Spencer" She said with a kind smile. Right now she was rather happy to be meeting him. She said with a really soft look on her face, afraid of saying something stupid.

"Guess we both had someone on the other end telling us what to do" She chuckled.

Spencer sat down, "Yeah... I guess you could say that..." He could tell he was a bit younger than him. But he was OK with that.

She smiled weakly "My mother has a friend that is your friend, my mother and her big mouth" She blushed a bit. "I suck with dates since I have never been on one till now"

"I know what you mean," said Ryan, "I hate dating too... I never go out on dates but for some reason I deiced to do this... Honestly... I'm glad I did..." Ryan ordered himself a Coke, "So tell me a bit about yourself Ruby..."

she smiled at him and chuckled "yeah I am glad that I did this as well, and as for what I do, I write music. I have sold some of my music to a few celebrities" she said softly and looked at him. "so what about you?"

"Well, I'm own a company that sells computer equipment to businesses. We also service them as well. We are pretty successful so I only really go into work like once or twice a week." The water came and he ordered a steak, baked potato, and salad for himself. He let Ruby order whatever she wanted When the waiter left he looked back her, "So you're a songwriter... Sounds a lot more interesting than my job... Have you written anything I might have heard?"

She smiled at him with a kind smile on her face "I dunno did some music for some of the main stream people. Like Lady Gaga I helped create Bad Romance" She said with a kind smile on her face, looking at him and sipping her coke she had ordered a Buffalo burger. Looking at him she smiled a little bit "A song called Jar of Hearts that kind of thing" she said with a very soft smile on her face, enjoying the look of him it was really nice.

"wow... that is very impressive..." He took a sip of his Coke, "Do you make a good living with your songs?"

She smiled and sighed "Comfortable but I am simple I don't need more then one house or car, I live in a small apartment, in front of the park so I am happy about it" She said with a very soft smile.

"Sounds about the same as me...I Have millions of dollars but I live in a simple home in the suburbs. I have a few extra things like a real home theater in the basement and a nice inground pool. But other than that... I try to live a simple life..." Just then their food came.

She smiled "So with you having more money then god what do you do with it all?" She took a bite of her meal and it was to die for.

Ryan took a bite of his steak, it was cooked to perfection. He laughed at her comment, "Well, I give quite a bit of it to charity but for the most part its in the bank..."

She smiled "Me I would probably make a homeless shelter, maybe a better shelter for the animals that have no place to go. I am kinda a big sap" She chuckled a little bit.

"Those are good... I do give money to both of those things..." Soon Dinner was finished... The waiter returned, "Would either one of you like desert?"

She smiled a bit "well its not like its good for my diet but what the hell" She looked at the waiter "I will have a slice of the chocolate cheesecake please"

"Me too..." said Ryan... "You better be kidding about dieting... YOu have a great body..." he said to Ruby when the waiter left.

She chuckled a little bit "Oh?" She looked at him "huh your sweet tho" She chuckled a little bit it was rather nice.

Sitting back and nibbling on her cake she smiled "Well I can draw and paint"

"Wow... you are really artisct..." said Ryan as he ate, "I couldn't draw anything to save my life..

She smiled "Well then lets hope that doesn't happen" She grinned a little bit at him.

Soon the meal was over, "So... What would you like to do now?" asked Ryan.

She smiled a little bit "I dunno" She said softly she could not help but smile a little bit. and couldn't help but smile a little bit more thinking. "It's not to late, could catch a movie?"
