I've been in a really reflective mood lately, thinking of things from my childhood, and most of those memories have been about music. Songs I have heard, songs I have sung, but mostly songs I used to hate and now love.

When I was little, I HATED rock music, hated it so much that I used to cry when it came on the radio. I started liking rock music when the grunge movement began, although grunge music was something I never really listened to... I realized today that a LOT of stuff that came out in the early 90s suddenly sounds really good to me. Collective Soul's "World I Know" took me by surprise earlier when I started singing along with it and I realized I not only still knew all the words, but that the song even moved me to tears for a bit. Any time I hear a particularly good song these days (could be through my headphones or even from someone's car stereo), I am forced to stop in my tracks for a moment and just....bask.

What sorts of things in your past did you see or experience that you absolutely hated at the time, but you are now able to find enjoyable and even valuable today?

I also didn't like rock music - it sounded like chaos to me. I couldn't catch the tune, I couldn't understand what they were saying, it just seemed like random noise to me.

When me and K first got together I ONLY listened to country, classical, and OLDIES (I mean 50's music, maybe 60's). Now I listen to everything, LOL. K's a 'headbanger', he loves hard rock, metal . . .etc.

Peas!
I know its stupid...
But i HATED them...used to throw up at the table when my mother tried to force me to eat em..
Ever since culinary arts school i love em...Only if they are fresh though...I still hate the canned variety...
And as far as music goes...I hated the beetles...Mom loved em...
Now i listen to them all the time!

I won't eat any canned veggies. Yick.

Brussel sprouts. Used to think they were beyond gross. Discovered that if you take the bother to core out the white centers & drown them in cheese that they're pretty darned good. (The white center is where that icky bitter taste comes from.)

Yeah i steer clear of em as much as possible...esp. in glorious summer months!

If I can't get them fresh I get them frozen, it's almost as good that way. And I steam them, cause that makes 'em taste better. But canned veggies have had all the nutrition and good taste canned right out of them. yickyickyick

Yes.....due to a bad experience early in my sexual history I decided my butt was off limits for EVER.....but then chatting to someone online after I left my ex, my curiosity was aroused (so to speak ;) ) and I decided to give it another chance. I'm still not convinced it is pleasurable....I don't orgasm from it, but the sensations are ok and the submissive feelings I get from doing it are wonderful :)

Food wise? Mushrooms. I hated them as a child but now I love them :nana:

Oh food wise?

Easy...cock.

ROFL....I didn't do that either until about 5 years ago :D Amazing how perceptions change when it's someone you want to please

I still can't get into the Brussel Sprout thing, no matter what you do to them. Mushrooms on the other hand, I loved as soon as I realized that there are things other than button mushrooms in the world.
