I'm not sure if it's because I live in NYC and we wear lots of black or if I just have a thing for them, but I have about a bajillion black tank tops- all of them different.

I just bought 3 more today.

I also find that I can never have enough black pants, shoes or sandals.

Do any other women on here have an abundance of black clothes?

I think its a marker of being east coast.

my favorite is the one with "Boy Beater" embroidered on it.

I used to have tons of black clothes, but my mom used to always tell me I wore too much black, so I stopped buying anything black, and now I have a shortage. Like I only own one pair of black pants, and they are WAY too big now, and I really need to go shopping. *wah*

it's funny, i wear white all day....but i own more black!(wearing it now!)

I have enough black clothes to wear all black for over a week and not repeat an outfit.

Ok, I thought I was going crazy or something.

MG, I could easily do that as well. I love black.

The tank tops I bought today are so cute- one is mesh, but solid where the boobage area is. Another one is sheer and fluttery- looking, with a solid piese for the chest area, and the third is solid, but with criss-cross going down the middle.

Hmmm.... they sound kind of boring, but they actually look better than the way I'm describing them.

I have enough black clothing.. I could attend a funeral a day for a month and never wear the same thing twice.

Mr Freakys mom is always bitching about me always wearing black. A few months ago I broke down and bought a salmon colored shirt. Now I wear it with black pants when she is around. She isn't bitching quite as much.

I read somewhere that (fashion influences aside) populations tend to wear clothing that mimicks the colors of their surroundings.

NYC, being filled with concrete, tall buildings, asphalt and not so much relative sunshine at street level, spawns black clothing.

Hawaii, being lush and floral....

And so on.

Black is beautiful.

Over half my warddrobe is black. Growing up I just always gravitated towards that color. Pants, shirts, hats, sneakers or whatever. Can't even have enough black sweatshirts or pants.

Virtually everything I own is black with the exception of my jeans. I blame it on the fact that my dad is a huge Johnny Cash fan!

I love black clothes. White too. I like to wear real sheer white tops with black pants, or black strappy tanks under sheer white cardigans. :)

I think I have like 4 black tops.. 2 pairs of black pants.. 2 pairs of black sweatsuits.. I used to wear a ton of black. I don't really anymore.

Black allows you to not have to colour co-ordinate.

you can get dressed in the dark and not have to worry.

Stains? what stains?

No kidding. I have at least 4,000 blank tank tops, and all of my shoes are black.

I love black clothes. Thats pretty much all I wear, and I agree you can never have enough black tank tops.

I'm that way with gray. Easy to mix & match.

The trouble with black is that it fades in the wash, so that fresh, bright stuff in the store window is always saying ."Buy me! Buy me!"

Yeah, but black looks better and it never goes out of style. ;)

Same here with a lot

of black clothing. I just find it easier to mix and match things quickly. It basically goes with everything. It is when I get into other colors I have to take time to think what shoes, tops, jackets and such.

Now that Spring and Summer will be here I will have to coordinate better.

Peace,
Tulip

I'm a trendy guy...

All my apparel has been black forever.
Black Harley tee shirts, black jeans, black motorcycle boots, and black leather dress shirts.
It slims my full figured lost cause physique!

Does this chain wallet make me look fat?

We have Union Jacks on our tank tops.

Doesn't make any difference though.

Still get mistaken for Iraqis.

:)

Lot's of black. But I don't do the ALL black thing as much anymore. I think I have more black shoes/boots than the shoe store!

But, as for fading, they now have a new detergent (liquid) especially for black/dark clothing, Woolite makes it? And IT WORKS!

Mmmm.... I like your ensemble.

Lady Guivivere, I hadn't heard of that. I'll definitely have to check it out.

It's called "Zero" by Woolite, Dark Laundry Wash.

I figure if we got it up here, you MUST have it there. It's a little pricey (?) but worth it in the long run.
