What a cogent, reasoned speech by Netanyahu today in support of the security of his people and his country.

I wish our president had such leadership, honesty and intelligence.

Did you watch the Reichsfuehrer's campaign speech?

It wasn't on Israeli TV, they know a campaign stunt when they see one....

Bibi says, "We don't know where their nuclear facilities are. They may even be in the Sudan!"

Then he says "No deal with Iran!"

Which means the only option left is bombing them

Of course, bombing nuclear facilities that you don't know the location of is rather problematic.

Woudn't the real bitch be the drama queen shouting that the sky is falling?

We could have a contest for finding the most times that Reichsfuehrer Bibi has claimed Iran is "3 to 5 years" from developing nuclear weapons since 1992.

You're a stupid son of a bitch if you think that his speech here gives him any political advantage in Israel. He probably harmed his re-election chances by coming here. BTW, your jowls seem to have picked up some new weight, just sayin'.:D

By your own admission and profile, you're borderline obese, tubby. Take a lap and mix in a salad.

Old men start wars and young men fight them. It's always been thus though never more obnoxious than in this day and age.

Complete rubbish. The "real politik" is that America does not need Israel any more. No longer reliant on Middle Eastern oil America no longer needs "battleship Israel" in the middle East. Tough, but that is reality. Israel can now go back to being a minor local power which abuses the rights of its minorities just like its neighbors. The sentimental attachment will remain but Bibi is living in the past .

Iran on the other hand is a major power of 80 million Iranian nationals with another 30 million Iranians outside its borders. Sure Iran is hateful but she's also stable. Compared with the failed states of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria Somalia and Libya, Iran is a beacon of good government. It is in the US interest to promote stable regimes such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkey, and to promote that interest it will be necessary to ignore the way these autocratic regimes treat their own people.

Obama was right to slap down Netanyahu, he brings nothing of value to the table any more - The Iranians increasingly do, and some accomodation will be worked out with them.

National interest is the only objective in foreign relations. Bibi and the Republicans are living in the past.

Obama is no one's bitch. The right can't grasp that. :)

You might want to add sincerity on your wish list.

Life is like a book, new page new adventure.

Wrong. Break off negotiations, up the sanctions and quit pretending that grade-school conflict management is going to impress "made men."

President Obama's team is so hungry for a deal and a victory dance that they will give away too much because the Mullahs will treat him like he treats the Republicans, as soon as they have a deal, they're going to cut the table legs down an inch or two and then demand they come back to the table to listen to their new demands. As with Reagan and Trump, you have to know when to walk away from a deal.

No matter where you go you are going to find a coterie of cowards that believe that you can negotiate with evil. And allowing cowards to negotiate on your behalf will always end badly.

Netanyahu didn't "own" Obama in his speech. He used the speech as an International platform to make the statement that Israel will act unilaterally if they feel threatened and provided the reasons why Israel will act alone if they have to.

The administration, predictably, issued a statement that Netanyahu offered no alternative. And this is true, he didn't. He merely said that ANY negotiated settlement that leaves Iran with the capability of going nuclear, now or in the future, is unacceptable to Israel and will cause Israel to act.

What is there in those words that is so upsetting to the Obama regime?

That a comparison will be made between Bibi and himself and that he might not measure up.

I only saw half the speech and nothing in it rose to the level of the hissy-fit that it provoked among the Democrats; you would have been thinking that he was calling for the elimination of taxes and impeachment. That was an undignified and childish display that I pray was ignored by the world press...

It's his own fault that he invited that comparison. There are still some of us that recognize cowardice in the face of the enemy when we see it.

And we realize that these cowards are absolutists who will proclaim, "Your only solution is war! All you want to do is bomb! You want to send other people to die! You just want the President and the country to fail! You want to kill all Muslims!"

1.
a person who does not agree with Ish

2.
a person who does not agree with 4estBootLicker

What did I just say about the tendency to absolutism?

;) ;)

No thought at all to the topic, just, "How do I fight the right wing today? Let me look through my rolodex of bumper-stickers and mantras."

True enough, but these cowards conveniently forget that the Iranian regime, whose foundational raison d'etre has not changed since it's inception, is a regime that sent 100's of thousands of young Iranians off to the Iraq border in human wave assaults waving an AK-47 in one hand and a "true ticket to paradise", personally signed by the Ayatollah, waving in the other.

And it's hard to decide which is the more distressing evil. The fact that the Iranian regime would issue those tickets, or that 100's of thousands of young Iranians would actually want to take that trip.

You might want to check with Big Bro Ish on that one.

He is the only one that reads your mindless bullshit.

Petey says: I only read stuff I know that I will agree with beforehand!

College taught me that a closed mind is the best mind!
