Turns out Riff and I are old acquaintances. From ages ago, when Bianca's was the only adult bb/chat site on the net.

My name back then was Aleister. And he remembered me... and I him...

Small cyber-world isn't it?

Anyone else ever frequent Bianca's?

Banana chat?

Plantation?

SOI (State of Insanity)?

Firefly?

There was one other... before Plantation - it was what Banana Chat was called before it was renamed... anyone remember it? Riff?

Its all about when too... I was there 10 years ago and moved over that time through several places till finally landing here. I wouldn't know people who weren't in "my" time frame.

I thought it was quite amazing that Riff and I have actually known each other before Lit...

Nope, but I wonder if I'll ever run into some of my old friends from the local bbs days.

Anybody here used to frequent Westide in L.A. about 10 years ago?

I know Coltrane! He used to post in my forum! Or should I say, "John Q. Prozac's" forum.

Haven't heard from his ass in a long ass time.

I remember SOI! I was trying to remember the name of that place!

My best friend was Elise. I actually got to meet her in London on my way home from Moscow. Elise and I had a blast and my ass needs to call her.

I hung out mostly in Malaclypse chat. And I was then, as I am now, always "riff."

I also knew a Riff at Plantation - that wasn't you too?

I'm still a member of SOI - though I haven't posted there in ages. I've got a lifetime membership. I was good friends with the woman who created the place.

I don't know if I went to Plantation, though the name sounds familiar. If I went there it was not but a couple of times.

I pretty much hung out at the shack unless I was having a private chat at SOI before I got turned on to POW WOW

I remember Pow Wow - didn't use it much though.

Plantation was one of the first pay chat sites - though guests were allowed. If you had joined, you'd remember.

my god, I've only been online for under 2 years. I am truly a newbie.

I remember Pow Wow, too. It was an astounding advancement when it appeared in...what... '94? 95?

Eralier than that, i wasn't ever at Bianca's or any of those spinoffs but i did do the BBS thing - a local SF Bay area line. I spent time lost in the world of MUD/MUSH/MOO's, too. BayMOO sucked up about two years of my life in the early 90's. I telnetted in.

I've been online since 1991, i think.

Yes.. Pow Wow was a big deal in its day - as was Firefly which went under.

I did telnet MUD/MUSH/MOO's as well - before Bianca's which should forever be remembered as the first adult WEB BASED chat site... *smile*

I've posted this link before - some of you who haven't seen it yet might enjoy it. And, if you've been online a long time, you might even recognize some of these people.

This took place at Plantation though most of us met at Bianca's before moving on.

This was an online wedding - back when I was known as Aleister (yes, after Crowley if anyone is interested...)... It was even written up in the Wall Street journal.. might have been the first ever internet wedding.

Its good memories for me. I'm still friendly with some of these people.

It took place online but "in real time" back when the best any of us had were 28.8 modems.. you can imagine the syncing up problems and the people crashing right and left... so.. to make the long background story short:

Jodi is the woman who created and programmed SOI. I'm proud to have been of some help in that effort. She was a wonderful loving dear friend of mine. She died of cancer a couple years after the wedding. Those of you who are familiar with SOI might know the admin there - whose name is Seph. She's the 2nd Seph - Jodi was the first. Her cousin and his wife (Seph) took over SOI and kept her dream alive after she died.. it is still a very popular site to this day.)

Jodi married Phaedra. They were truly in love. I know this. I knew Jodi - I still know Phaedra. Anyone who tells me online emotion, online love, isn't real doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.

After Jodi died I took the archive of the Wedding - each person in the wedding cermony said their own piece, played their own "role." But because of the vagaries of the net at the time it was sometimes jumbled.

As a gift to Phaedra I rewrote the wedding. I put everything in order. I added commentary to explain who everyone was. I fixed the spelling and grammer... I turned it into a story that I hope anyone can read and appreciate, even if they weren't there.

(BTW - at the time I wasn't ordained. These days I can legally perform a wedding ceremony in California. No matter - Jodi and Seph didn't need anything more than their love for each other.)

Here it is:

BTW Dillinger-

I DO remember that wedding! It was a big splash at the shack. Lot's of people talked about it.

That is even more of a trip that you remember the wedding! *smile*

Gawd, I'm such a net baby... I've only been online for about three and a half years and this is only the second or third message board I've ever posted on. The others were either spiritual or about farming.

That's so cool that y'all knew each other 'way back when' and met up again here.

was Bianca a smut with a shack?
or did Bianca get smut-like with Shaq?

She better watch out cause that''s a whole lotta man there.

That lemonade from the girls who jump up and down in funny hats goes well with many horn-dogs, loitering at your local food court.
