Bethothed.....

Adewen paled nodded and as soon as Ian released her she ran, and as ushual didnt bother to look where she was going, but luck was with her and soon found her back in the hall where she mannaged to find a servent to show her back to her own chamber.

It wasnt until she was trying to get some sleep that she wondered about Ian's change in accent.. was he a scot.??? . no.. he was english wasnt he..?? he did travel to scotland and of corse he would know the language he would have to in order to talk to them wouldnt he..??

He had been very angery.. and she supposed she couldnt blame him.. he was right she did get lost alot... and never seemed to remember to find a maid or bring one with her.... but that was due to the fact that she had only been here a few days and ohh who was she kidding she'd get lost where ever she was..

She wondered what he had ment about what her brother had discussed with him but decided to let it go.. and if she could help it tomorrow she would do her best to stay out of his way..

..............................................

The next morning Adewen was dressed in a brown gown with white lace for the trim and as English custome called for her hair was braided and she wore her veil hidding her hairs color the gold circlet holding the veil in place.

She decided to join the other women for once.. they were all playing games in the guarden she sat in the shade not far from them and watched the quorquet match.. being played.. One girl hit the ball rather hard sending the other flying right at Adewen..

she ducked out of the way her green eyes wide.. as she picked up the ball and handed it back to the girl who came running up appologizing the whole time, as some of the others laughed.. I really am sorry i didnt mean to hit it you.. Adewen took the girl at her word and said. Its alright accidents happen.. the girl nodded her thanks and returned to the game with her ball..

The rest of the day was uneventful all of them returning to the hall for the noon meal.. her father found her then and told her to be ready to leave on the morrow that his buisness with the king was settled and they would need to return home as soon as possable with out appearing too hasty..

She wasnt sure what he ment by that but accepted the fact that she would be returning home soon.. she didnt belong here anyway.. there was only one person she would miss and it was a good thing they were leaving anyway because she had made him angery and had no wish to upset him farther by seeking him out to apologize..

Her brother found her next and said he wanted to wish her fairwell early because due to his training regement might not see her before she and there father left for home. She huged him and told him to keep himself alive and as safe as possable..

After the noon meal was over Adewen wasnt sure what to do with her time.. and so asked a maid to show her how to get back to the guardens.. the maid showed her the way and Adewen contented herself with strolling the guarden looking at the different flowers and plants..

She found a bench beneath a charming willow tree and set down enjoying the view..

Ian felt bad for his reaction after he saw the frightened look on the face of the girl and the way she ran off. Yet he was still afraid that she might turn him in as a Scot. He just hoped she didn't. Not for her sake, but for his own. That was the danger though. He would have to be more careful in the future. It was his fault if she did turn him in. What he really hoped was that he had scared her enough that she forgot what she had heard.

He went right home after he said farewell to the ambasador. He sent his report to be sent home with the man. It was safer for him to send a message to Scotland than it would be for Ian. He got into the small building he called his English home and went right to bed. It had been a long and crazy day. He needed sleep.

In the morning he woke and dressed. After a quick morning meal he thought of what to do. He didn't really want to return to the castle, but he was worried that Adewen had told someone about him being a Scot. He made the trip and got in without being recognised. He decided that the best place to hear gossip would be in the gardens. He went there quickly without being seen. He searched and found himself a spot up in a Willow tree where people wouldn't see him.

When he saw Adewen in the gardens he looked for any signs that she had told anyone about him. He also watched for anyone else meeting her there. He had to make sure that his secret wasn't leaked to the English. It was a matter of life and death, and not only his own. If he was caught it meant the English would probably attack before the Scots were completely ready.

Adewen was quite alone and enjoying resting in the shade of the tree.. blessed silence, she thought closing her eyes she leaned back against the willow, hearing what she thought was a squril or bird moving in the branches above her she opened her eyes suprised to see Ian sitting quietly above her..

She gasped and stood fully intending to get as far from him as possable not wishing another lecture about wondering about on her own again.. saying as she got up I am sorry to disterb you i'll go i didnt know you were here.., and yes i know i should have brought a maid.. i wont trouble you further..

Before she got far however her vail caught on a branch and came off of her head reveiling her long brown hair.. her green eyes widened with suprise at its loss and then frustration as she bent down to scoop it up her braid falling over her sholder for a moment so that when she straitened back up vail in hand her braid rested infront of her rather than down her back.. and reached her waist..

When she looked at Ian he was no longer in the tree but walking twords her.. she thought about running but stood her ground insted waiting to hear what he would say..

Ian listened and waited, watching Adewen. He had to know. When she spotted him he swore under his breath. She looked afraid. He hoped it wasn't because she had turned him in. He leapt down from the tree and looked at her carefully. She simply stood there and he approached her carefully. His ears listened for anyone coming up behind him. It seemed she was alone. He tried not to look angry with her.

As he got close to her he tried to speak calmly. "I am sorry about how I treated you last night. I should not have yelled at you. I should not have scolded you. It was not your fault at all. Now, I have one question for you. It is very important. Answer truthfully. Did you tell anyone at all about what you heard last night? If you did, you will not like what will happen next. If you didn't, promise me you won't ever breathe a word of it to anyone ever for the rest of your life. If you don't promise, again, you won't like what will happen next. If I ever find out you told anyone about what happened last night, you won't like what will happen and neither will the person you told." As soon as he finished speaking he realised he had been quite threatening. He hoped he didn't scare her again, unless it was just enough to keep her silent. He also hoped she didn't run.

Adewen stood there listining to him she had begun to relax at his apologie and then stiffened as he threatened her.. and even took a step back.. I have told no one .. i didnt even understand what was said, only that it sounded like you argued and of corse you would speak there language you do go to scottland so you would need to... but why do you threaten me ??

Her mind turned over his words something about his being in the garden and talking with the other scot he wanted kept secret, but why unless he was.. she gasped and looked directly into his violet colored eyes.. My god! your ... she didnt even finnish her thougt allowed and turned to try and run..

Ian saw the look on the girl's face as she spoke. At first she was nervous, possibly even afraid. Then the look turned to thought. He didn't like it. He grew nervous again. His nerves had only let up for a minute after she said she had not told anyone. When her eyes met his he knew she had come to a realisation. He knew he was in trouble now. He hoped that no one was nearby.

She tried to run but he grabbed her long braid as it flipped up. He pulled her back sharply, not caring if it hurt her. His safety and the safety of Scotland was at stake. He moved forward and grabbed her. He swiftly placed a hand firmly over her mouth to keep her silent. His other arm held her close to his body to keep her still. His mouth was close to her ear so he could speak quietly without anyone overhearing. He took her to a corner away from any windows and any major paths before he said anything.

"You will not tell anyone of who I really am. If you do, I will kill you. I don't care if you are a woman, you will not live if I ever discover that you told anyone. Yes, I am Scottish. I am here to protect my people. I am not here to plan an attack, only prevent one on my homeland. Your people are the savages. They attack our lands all the time. We have never led an attack on an English city. My uncle died at the hands of an Englishman when he was definding our homeland. I never got to meet him, he was dead before my parents were even married. So don't think of me as some evil savage brute who kills innocent English. I am not that. Do you understand me and do you understand the consequences of you telling anyone ever?" He held his hand over her mouth but expected a nod as her way of saying yes.

Adewen's cry of pain when Ian pulled her back to him by her braid as she had tryed to run had been cut short for he held her close and moved them back off the path further into a more secluded part of the gardens..

Her heart beat quickly she thought she could hear, and feel the blood rushing to her ears.. she tryed to struggle but he held her fast.. she stilled when she heard him wisper more threats.. she would have protested but as his hand was still over her mouth and he threatened her with death she truly had no option but to agree.. at least until she mannaged to get free and return to her father.. or brother.

She nodded her understanding of the situation and waited for him to release her.. she would not cry out or draw attention to them now.. she would wait until she was safely away from him..

Ian held her there as she nodded in agreement. He didn't believe her though. He knew he couldn't trust her at all. She would go tell her brother or father the moment she had the chance. He would if he was in her situation. She must know that by the time he could get to her he'd have all of England trying to kill him. If she got to her father she would be safe. He thought for a minute of what to do. Then an idea struck him.

He cut some cloth off of his shirt and tied it as a gag to keep her silent. Then he led her through the gardens and to a small gate exit out of the castle. From there he led her through alleys and small streets until he arrived at a small building. He took her inside and placed her down in a chair. Using more cloth he tied her down to the chair to prevent escape. He went into the other room and met with a friend.

After a few minutes of discussion Ian returned with another man. Ian went over to Adewen and leaned down next to her. He spoke softly in her ear. "This man here is a priest. He is going to marry us. You are going to agree when he asks you and when he tells you to repeat the vows, you will repeat them. After this you will be my wife and held to all the obligations that it brings. I hope you understand that if you don't do this, you will never see your family again."

He untied her and ungagged her. He pulled her up from the chair and dragged her in front of the other man. The man was not really a priest. He was another Scot, in disguise like Ian. He had a good English accent that could fool Adewen. He didn't really want to marry an Englishwoman. So he would make her think she was married to him and make sure she didn't give up his secret, even to her father. When he thought of a better way to deal with her he would be able to get rid of her and not be stuck with a bride. Then he could go home and find a real Scottish bride.

Adewen thought to struggle at first it was clear he hadnt beileved her when she had nodded her agreement when he gagged her and lead her from the guardens and castle grounds.. she didnt know where he was taking her but she would rather walk and look for an opening to escape rather than being thrown over his sholder with no chance at all..

No oprotunity presented itself however and she soon found herself in a building and tied to a chair.. he left her there to go into the other room. She wondered what her fait would be.. would he kill her as he had threatened.. sell her to slavers, she had heard stories that her father and brother had told of such things.. she shivered at the thought..

He came back soon another man with him this one dressed as a preast to give her confession before death she thought.. and then she heard Ian's wisper in her ear. Her eyes were wide with suprised shock as this was truly the last thing she had expected.. what would her father and brother say when they found out.. it was true if he wed her according to the law she could not speak against her husbend..

If she agreed she faced her familys anger and could tell them nothing of the truth.. but if she said no and fought him what then??? ruin and shame or worse death..

She nodded her agreement as he untied her and pulled her up infront of the preist.. he looked a bit sorry for her but it soon turned into hardened determination before he nodded and begain the wedding.. starting with Ian , and then herself she said her vows and her I do's at the appropreate times.. but in truth it was mostly a blur.. before she knew it it was done.

What now she wondered.. dare she hope he not take his husbendly rights.. then she might have a chance to anull the wedding, but from the look of him and the things he had already said she knew he was not a man to leave such a thing to chance... the only thing that remaind was would he take her here in this place or return to the palace with her?? did he have a home of his own...? she knew so little..

After the preast left she crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him anger flashing in her green eyes.. as she spoke. I hate you...What will you do with me now ?? Your scot and I am english even if we wanted this to work it wouldnt.. nether of us understands the other or really wants too...

Ian went through the 'ceremony' with Adewen. At the right times he repeated after the 'priest' and answered the questions. He was glad that Adewen seemed to believe it all. She also said all the proper things. When his friend was done they were 'married'. He took her aside and let his friend leave. She was pissed, ad he knew that, but he was safer now. His response was simple. "Did you not listen when you thought I was English? Scots and English are no different. We are both people. I understand the English. If I didn't I wouldn't be able to keep my secret. You will learn to undestand the Scottish."

He took her by the hand and led her out of the building and down the street. A few minutes later they arrived at his small home and he pulled her inside. He closed the door and then went to sit by his table. He looked at her and considered how things would work. He decided to ask her something that he didn't know. "Explain to me all the laws and everything about English marriage. Tell the truth as well, because I will double check this afternoon. I am not normally an angry or violent person, but my life is in danger here and I will do whatever it takes to protect myself and Scotland."

Adewens eyes still flashed sparks showing she wasnt as weak or pathetic as most people thought her to be she had spirit but it was kept hidden behind years of being told how to act and behave..

She was tempted sworly to tell him to go strait to hell, but wasnt sure what his reaction would be because she still did not know him that well.. I am not sure what you want to kow.. why dont you just ask your friend so you can be sure that i dont lie. she said looking proud and defiant all at once as she waited..

I would suggest however that you send word to my father and brother, as my father and i were supposed to leave and return home on the morrow. If by now there not already looking for me and wondering where i've gotten too now..

She looked away from him then and went to stand infront of the window she was tired and still a bit scared of him, altho she had to admit he hadnt hurt her not really, but what kind of husbened would he be..

it was his right now to take her when ever and how ever he wished, as well as to beat her if she disobayed.. she knew some husbends were not like that but which was he??

She almost wished she hadnt mentioned sending word to her father or brother but the sooner they knew she was married the sooner that confrontation could be delt with and her father would want to know if it had been consumated..

if not he could try to take her back and have it annulled... but why would he her marrage to this English.... no Scot.. was a better match than he could have planned for her. She truly was connored..

She turned to face him again.. My i go to bed now.. i am not hungry and i find my slef very tired ? She knew her father would want to see and talk to her as well to assure himself she was alright and happy with her new situation.. Ian if he was so inclined could wake her when they arrived.. or if he insisted she would stay awake to await there arrivles and go to bed once they had gone.

Ian quickly became annoyed with the insolence of the girl. Her refusal to tell him anything mad him angry with her. He wouldn't hit her though. That would just make her less likely to cooperate. She suggested he send word to her father and brother. He would, but wouldn't tell them exactly where they were. He wanted some time.

He looked at her as she stated she was tired. That was fine with him. Maybe some sleep would make her easier to work with. It would also give him a chance to get some thing done. He led her to the small bedroom and let her go to sleep. Then he returned to his main room.

He waited for a short while before going and visiting another friend. He learned a lot about English marriage law. He discovered things that could allow her to end the marriage. He had to avoid it. the first thing was consumation. He had to do something about that. Yet he did not want to steal her virginity or lose his own. He might seem a strange man for thinking so, but he wanted to preserve it for someone that could at least become his real wife in the future. Before he left he organised a message to be sent to her father. It would say that Ian and the man's daughter were in love. Fearing resistance from him they had decided to elope. They were gone on their honeymoon and when they returned in a few days the man could come and see her again. As long as he promised not to be upset.

On his way home he bought a lot of things that he would need for what he had planned. He hoped that this worked. He entered the bedroom when he got home and went over to Adewen. He placed something under her nose that would put her into a very deep sleep, but keep her mind active and suggestive.

The next thing he did was take off all her clothes. Once she was naked he got right to work. He was not about to rape her, but he would make her think they had consumated their marriage. He started by taking some pig's blood and putting a little under her and between her legs, as if it had dripped out of her vagina. Then he took a polished wooden pole about the size of a man's penis and he placed it inside her. He simply left it there. The final physical thing he did was nessecary, he felt. He stripped out of his own clothes and stroked himself until he came on her stomach and pubic mound. He left that as evidence that he had been involved and she would not be suspicious about that.

Once that was all done he lay next to her in bed. He leaned in close and made the final touches. He made noises into her ear, moaning and sexual comments. He wanted her subconscious to have memory of the sounds so that when he told his fake story later she would be more willing to believe it. The drug he'd used had left her mind open for suggestions like that.

After some time he removed the pole from her and hid it. He made sure everything else was dry on her body. Then he got himself settled in next to her and held her close. He had to admit, she had a lovely body and she felt nice to hold. He pulled blankets over their bodies and pretended that he had rested with her after their consumation.

Adewen woke in the ealry morning finding herself alone in the room her dreams if they had been dreams were strange indeed.. she opened her eyes slowly and looked around the room she was not as alone as she supposed Ian was standing beside the bed dressing and prepairing for the day she supposed..

She sat up pulling the sheet up with her to keep herself covred.. had she not drempt it all then .. it had truly happened.. she took a quick peek beneath the covers to see and quickly put it back down blushing.. had she enjoyed what had happened between them?? in truth she did not remember... but the evidance that it had been done was there all the same.

There was no chance now of an anullment.. she looked at Ian then, meeting his gaze, but didnt say a word.. truly she didnt know what one said after such things.. would he laugh and think her foolish if she asked for a robe to cover herself even after he already knew what she looked like...

why didnt she remember what he looked like.... did she want to ... it was confusing.. the thoughts chacing around in her head...

I.. if its not much trouble.. i'd like to wash up.. she looked anywhere and every where around the room accept at him.. could you leave the room or turn your back so i can get a robe?? ....... please..

When the morning came Ian got up and started to get dressed. It was only a few minutes before Adewen woke up and started to realise what had happened. He looked at her and saw that she was not completely freaking out. It seemed it had worked. He had to smile at his ingenuity. Adewen, on the other hand, looked unsure and a little confused. He simple continued getting dressed.

She asked to wash up and then asked him to turn away so she could get up. He chuckled and reached over, grabbing a robe and tossing it to her. Even when she thought she'd had sex with him she was still not wanting to be naked in front of him. That was her choice. He let her get into the robe and he finished dressing. Once he was ready he went into the other room to start making breakfast. He made some for her as well, not wanting to leave her out and mistreat her. He had to remember that while he knew the marriage was fake, she didn't. She really thought they were married and he needed to keep her thinking that and actually act like a husband to her.

Once Ian had left the room she got up from the bed and went over to the wash stand she poored some water from the piture and using a cloth washed herself up, and begain looking around for some clothing to wear..

Reolizing all she had was the clothing he had brought her in she smoothed the rinkles from them as best she could and put them back on.. out of habit she started to wear the vail and circlet then hesetatted... she was married now.. and would not need the vail any longer.

Her hair rebraided she left off the circlet as well as vail not knowing wether or not her husbend had servents as she had not met any the night before she stripped the bedding herself to be washed and then paused wondering if her husbend wanted to keep it as proof if her father asked for it.. she set the soild bedding off to the side to ask him first before she washed it.

Making her way down stairs she could smell food cooking and her stomach rumbled reminding her she hadnt eaten supper the day before.. following her nose she found the kitchen and to her suprise Ian was the cook. It smells wonderful .. i didnt know you could cook..

She wasnt sure if she sounded sarcastic or not she hadnt ment for it to sound that way truly she had never seen any man cook, nether her father or brother did at least not while at home.. but then once again he was showing her he was nothing like any man she knew.

What are your plans for today?.. am i to reamin hidden here or do i go with you ? she asked curious as to what was expected of her, this marrage thing was wholly new to her.. and she wasnt sure what to expect..

Ian hoped that things would calm down now and he could get back to being normal. He would have only another role to play as Adewen's husband. He was sure he could handle it easily. He focused on the food. He decided that he would set up another lie. He knew it was needed to make the girl less hostile toward him.

When Adewen entered the room he turned and gave her a soft smile. She seemed surprised that he could cook. He had learned how a long time ago. It had been a needed skill. She asked his plans and he thought for a moment. He decided that it would be best to stay in after the note he had sent to her father. They were supposed to be on a honey moon. That was when he decided on what they would really do.

He smiled at her again as he handed her some food. "We will be going on a trip out of the city for a couple of days, as a honey moon. I know that might surprise you, but it shouldn't. You see, Adewen, I've loved you ever since that first time we met. That kiss was the greatest moment of my life. I did all that I did yesterday because I was worried that your father might not let me have you and you might leave and be out of my reach forever. I couldn't handle that. I am so sorry. I should have been calmer about it, but I was afraid. I want you to be happy and I hope you can be happy with me." He looked into her eyes to see if she had believed him.

Adewen listened to him talk as he finnished prepairing there breakfast and wondered what game he played now, altho she couldnt deny that she had met him after the kiss shared in a hidden alcove.. her eyes softened with remembering how it had effected her.

she doubted he truly loved her.. especally given what she knew of him now.. had he spoken words of love before she might beleive such a thing of him, .......but now.. It was only the day before he had threatened her life.

she wasnt sure what to believe.. but she did know that she should try and make the best of things between them if she could wether he was a scot and a spy or not.. he was now also her husbend.

I am not sure what to say... where will we go? Maybe if they got to know one another better then they would find if not love at least friendship. She could hope.

tell me about yourself .. please.. i dont know much of anything about you accept what little i've learned sence we met...

Ian could tell she didn't believe him, but she might at least think he didn't completely hate her. She asked him where they would go. At least she was not arguing with him. He wanted to avoid hostility between them. Anything that might make her go against her vows or the law or look into the truth of her situation, he wanted to avoid.

He ate a little breakfast as she asked him to tell her about him. He thought for a minute about whether or not to tell her who he really was. Eventually he decided that he should. It would be a sign of trust to her and hopefully lower the chances of her giving him away. He smiled at her. "My real name is Ian, but my last name is different. By English laws my name would be Ian Mackay, but I am of the clan Buchannan. As for where we are going, just out into the country to a friend's cabin." With that settled he started to tell her about his childhood and his family. He told her many stories. He let her know as much as she could possibly want to know about him.

Your family sounds wonderful.... your mother and sister truly weild wepons along with the men?? she asked in awe still unable to believe such a thing was allowed. If she had ever dared her father would have her beaten for such behavior..

It was clear English and scots had different ideas and customes all around.. and the more she heard of his family the more she softened twords him and hoped one day she could meet them.

your family has seen many hard and sad times and yet they thrive there is much love for them in your voice when you speak of them.. she said smiling

Reality of the here and now slowly returned as she remembered the bedding and asked.. umm.. i wanted to ask... the bedding.. is there a maid to wash it or did you ... She looked souly at her plate while she spoke too embarassed to meet his eyes.. did you wish it kept for evidance?

Ian was surprised at how much his stories and honesty with her had changed her attitude. He had not expected to see a smile on her face. It made him quite happy. When she asked about the bedding he thought. That was something he had not considered. He looked at her and decided to ask her what she thought about it. "Do you think your father would need it as evidence? I've sent him a note already. If he has a few days to calm down do you think he will still be upset and try to look for any way to get you out of this? In any case I don't have a maid or any servants. I have been all on my own. Unless I brought a Scottish servant it would be too dangerous to live near someone who might discover my secret. If I bring a Scottish servant then they might give me away by accident by breaking accent."

He finished eating and then looked at her. He wondered what she thought her father might be thinking at the moment. He was most worried about that. He knew that he could probably outsmart them. If they were really angry though, they might attack him. He could probably defend himself, but if he fought them he would probably have to flee the city and probably return to Scotland. If they attacked him he would probably end up having to kill them. Then h didn't know what he'd do with Adewen.

Adewen didnt want to think about her father.. he would ether be angry or there was a slight chance he would be happy to have her off his hands, but her brother was another matter.. he would be angry until he heard from her that all was well and that she was happy with the match.

I dont think it will be necessary for my father, but my brother he is protective of me and would wish to make sure i am safe and ..if he thinks i was forced or am unhappy he will need proof..... she trailed off sure she wouldnt need to ellaborate especally sence her brother had already confronted Ian when she had thought him a friend.

She finnished her meal and excused herself.. she didnt have anything to pack for there trip because she only had what she wore at the moment and so kept busy by putting clean sheets and blankets on the bed as well as straitinging up the room, and backing a bag of clothing and other items she thought he might need for a two day trip.

That done she wondered threw the house becoming familar with her new surroundings or at least as familar as she could be.. her husbend she found was in his study and she didnt wish to disturb him there and so continued exploring.

What she didnt know tho was of the letter that arrived from her father...

I regret that i myself cannot meet with you in a few days as i must not delay in returning to my home on some urgent matters.. My son however will meet with you as soon as you name the day and time.

As for myself i am glad you married my girl had you asked i would have gladly given her hand freely to yours, I must confess i know few englishmen of your standing willing to marrie a merchents daughter.. I wish you joy in your marrage..

Yours... R R SR..

Ian was glad to hear that she didn't think her father would be an issue. Her bother was already the one he was most worried about. He seemed very protective of her. He wasn't sure what to expect. He did decide that it would be best to keep the sheets in case he did want to check. He watched Adewen get up and go into the bedroom. He cleaned the dishes and packed some food for their trip.

He was surprised to hear a knock on the door. It was a friend of his bringing a message. It had been returned to the same friend he had sent a message to Adewen's father with. He took the small sheet of paper and thanked his friend. He took it into his study and read it. It was good news. He had recieved her father's blessing. It would help him a lot. It might also help him with her brother.

When he had placed it aside he went to go finish packing things. He was surprised to see a bag already packed. Adewen had prepared for the trip. It seemed she was taking to her situation better than he could have ever expected. He went and found her and took her by the hand. He smiled at her genuinely. "I recieved word from your father. He has given us his blessing. Your brother will meet with either me or both of us when we return. You do not need to fear anger from your father though. My other news is that you will not be without clothes. I have plenty of money here from my family and saved up from work I've done. I will be buying you some clothes and other needed items on our way out of the city."

Adewen wasnt sure what to expect from her brother ether she knew he would be angry and Ian's annoncement that her father had approved was what she had expected, tho it still stung to reolize he was happy to be rid of her so easly..

She had been thinking about Ian and herself now that her fate was tied to his threw marrage there was nothing for her to do but accept it.. after all fighting it would do nether of them any good.

she smiled when he mentioned that he would buy her some cloths on there way out of town, glad she would be able to have a few dress's made. Thank you.. i dont need much.. just a few dresses and undergarments to get me threw our trip to the cabin and when we get back i can with your permission send to my brother and have him bring my things with him when he comes.

She looked down at her hand in his as tho just reolizing they held hands.. she trying not to be rude slowly withdrew her hand.. they were making progress but there was still much between them. When do we depart ? she asked looking up into his eyes.. ohh how she loved those eyes...

ohh he was a very handsome man, and she could even forgive his being a scot, but he was also a spy.. could she trust him .. only time would tell..

Ian looked at Adewen to see her reaction to all he had to say. She wasn't surprised about her father, which was to be expected from what she had said. His second comment had brought a smile to her face. He liked seeing that. Not only because it made her happy, but because he found he liked seeing a smile on her pretty face.

When she took her hand away from his he showed no reaction. He had only taken it as a way to keep her attention. She asked when they left. He smiled softly. "Well, since you packed my things already, we can leave now. We will go to the shops first and then out of the city. I don't have a horse for both of us, so I will put our stuff on the horse's back and let you ride and lead the horse along the road. He is at a public stable, so we will get him after we go to the shop."

Adewen simply nodded and stood waiting for him to lead the way she followed him out and down to the shops to get what they needed, and indeed being a merchents daugter she did have one skill, she knew how to barter.

In the end they got what she needed and paid half of what it would normally cost, not to mention that she had only gotten what she needed and nothing more than that.. unlike most women she didnt linger long over this or that one or two items had caught her eye but she had passed them buy and gone cheeper.

The only two things she had not gone cheep on was a pair of stirdy boots and a good thick cloak with hood..

after having the woman pack her things for travel she gathered her packages and followed Ian down to the stables where his horse awaited.. and hoped she hadnt spent too much time in the shop.
