Best Lines Ever

Say three hail Mary's, eat a cracker as fast as you can and try to whistle and all will be forgiven my child.

To Have and Have Not, Slim: "You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and... blow."

Narrator: "Since the disintegration of her parent's marriage she'd only loved two things. The first was her long, dark hair. The second was how easily she could cut it off, and feel nothing."

Treasure of the Sierra Madre

(an often-misquoted line!)

Forrest Gump: "Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

"Look, Daddy. Teacher says, 'Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.'"

I had to look this one up, just for the spelling.

I once used this as my answering machine message.

"Think ya used enough dynamite there, Butch?" Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

I left so many off, but I decided they weren't really "Best Lines" from movies but just lines from what I consider to be great movies, and that's not the same thing.

"I'm your Huckleberry."

Dear God, Val Kilmer in that movie....

To Kill a Mockingbird is my absolute favorite movie and book. I think of this line often:

"Neighbors bring food with death, and flowers with sickness, and little things in between. Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a knife, and our lives."

Another fave movie, Mr. Roberts "Captain, it is I, Ensign Pulver, and I just threw your stinkin' palm tree overboard! Now what's all this crud about no movie tonight?"

For something completly different: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." :)
I love "To Kill a Mockingbird". I once worked at a place that had quite a few of them hanging around. They do a great job at mocking other bird calls. Over and over, they mix other bird's calls so each of their calls ends up about 10-15 seconds long.

As an interesting side note about the movie (well it's interesting to me) is the part of Arthur (Boo) Radley was played by Robert Duvall. It was his first role in a movie. What a great movie to be your first.

I'd forgotten this one, but it was just on the other night...
True Lies:
I have a little dick. It's pathetic!

One of my ALL TIME favorites:
Princess Bride:
No more rhymes now, I mean it!
Anybody want a peanut?

Can't believe there hasn't been any MP yet...
Monty Python and the Holy Grail:
Ok... the entire movie :D, but love this one.
God: What are you doing now?
Arthur: Averting our eyes, oh Lord.
God: Well don't.
And this one...
French Soldier: Now go away or I shall be forced to taunt you a second time!

"What makes you think you can just walk in there and find what we need?"
"They're called boobs, Ed."

- Erin Brockovitch

"Mmmmm, Juicy Fruit." One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

That, for unexpected humour in a film.

Other lines...

"I'm preparing myself to forgive you." (Monty in Withnail and I)

"What, like an Irish monk?" (the Dude in The Big Lebowski)

"Those aren't pillows!!" (Steve Martin's character in Trains, Planes and Automobiles)

From my favorite tv-series:

"He's dead, Jim."
"Scotty, (x) to beam up." (the one everyone knows was never actually said)
"I'm a doctor, not a (x)"

"Make it so."
"Engage!"
"Tea, Earl grey, hot."
"Mr. Worf, what can I do to prove that I'm human?" "Die!"

"You hit me! Picard would never do that!" "I'm not Picard!"
"Raktajino, extra strong, extra sweet."

"Coffee, black."
"That's illogical."
"Do it!"

Can't think of any Enterprise-quotes right now.

I think it was Jack Nickleson to Sherrly McClaen

"You need a shot of Taquilla"

"Why?"

"To kill that bug that crawled up your ass"

From the movie Saved!
Mary: Please let it be cancer, please let it be cancer, please let it be cancer...
(In regards to her thinking she either has cancer or is pregnant)

From Pineapple Express
Red: You just got killed by a Daewoo Lanos, motherfucker!

From the movie Saved!
Mary: Please let it be cancer, please let it be cancer, please let it be cancer...
(In regards to her thinking she either has cancer or is pregnant)

My favorite line from this movie is when the self-righteous biblegirl gets pissed and hurls the good book at Mary, and angrily screams:

"I AM FILLED WITH CHRIST-LOVE!!!!"

From Knocked Up:

Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of Everybody Loves Raymond, only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever.

Lines from what movie:

"Some days you just have to say WTF"
"Looks like University of Illinois"

You pull that shit with me, man, you bring a piece out on the lanes I'm gonna take it from you shove it up your ass and pull the trigger until it goes "click".
