Recently in Australia, there has been an increasing trend in "beer wenches" for the cricket.

Basically, a group of guys will hire a woman to serve them beer when they want.... of course, usually not wearing very much.

I mean, why should the guys have to get up from their seats, go and wait in line at the bar and then have to carry back the beer to his friends, when a "wench" can do it for them?

They might miss some of the game if they did that!

The "wench" is usually a friend of one of the guys and is paid pretty well for the day, as well as their ticket into the game.

I am not sure how i feel about this.....

One on hand, part of me screams out against it, but at the same time, the 'guy' in me says "hey that would be pretty cool, not having to get up"

Do they have this baseball?

Would the women of lit do it?

What do the guys think?

I would love to do that - be a beer wench. I'd be good at it!!

I was a bar wench in a past life, you know! ;)

*chuckle* apparently they can be paid from $50 to $100 an hour depending on how many guys are there.

now keep in mind that your average "one day" cricket match, can go for about 10 hours.

hmm $50 to $100 dollars an hour... yup that averages out to about the price of a girlfriend.

Thinking about it a hooker would be cheaper.:p

You hire em?

No wonder I watch the cricket from home... there also is the Jim Beam advantage.

Nah, they use canadian dollars at cricket matches.

$500-1000 for wearing skimpy clothes and going to buy beer? Sheesh, I do that every Friday night!

Cept I go up for my friends because the bartender serves me ahead of everyone else in line. But getting paid for what I do for fun sounds pretty ok to me.

Doesn't sound particularly exploitave to me, especially if they are being compensated well.
