BBW's Check In Version 4

It is so freaking cold here today. Yesterday I was so hot almost reached 90 and today it is cold and like 60...go figure.

We don't have our pool opened yet but can't wait for the hot summer to get here.

True, hun, true.
Normally by now the pools would have been warm for a couple of weeks but we have been experiencing almost daily rain storms and everything is soaked and colder.

Yes I understand burning arousal. We get people with snow skiis on the roof rack of their cars in July. ..lol

Yea. We've thankfully had a little rain here and there. June is always gloomy out here anyways. Makes me laugh when people come out for vacation.

Hahaha. Lucky :p I want some snow

Well I have not been to either of your states so I really did think it was always hot and sunny and roses and sunshine every damn day...lol

Today I have sunshine and roses but not much above 70. And it is tornado season so still have that to look out for later this week. I miss the simplicity of dealing with earthquakes.

OMG a BlackCashmere sighting...you are as elusive as big foot..lol

Hello my wonderful friend. I did indeed get your email and I was thinking about you on my car ride home from work today. I will write you back and tell you all my news.

Oh wow...that would freak me out big time. I don't know how you handle that.

The tornados? I've been here just over 4 years and have only had to move to my safe room twice, both times they didn't touch down in my area.
Earthquakes are actually easier for me to deal with, no warnings, just move to the doorway and hold on.

See I don't get the doorway thing. Don't we want to go outside?
Things collapse inside including things around the doorway.

Framing is stronger in the doorways, go outside and things that are falling off the buildings can hit you. Hold over from the old days when everything was brick with fancy edges and statues on the roof lines.

Last tornado in the city hopscotched our neighborhood, landed in the park and took down annoying pines

Last earthquake, centered in VA, literally rolled through the house like a lake wave, scared the shit out of the cat!

Brush fires scare me the most, lived through a few of them a time or two growing up. Including the one that burned out a good portion of my neighborhood.

My brother lives in Calgary and last year they had a terrible flood and were evacuated. They had a terrible time finding a place quickly that would accept pets. You would think people would be a bit more understanding in times of a crisis.

In a 3 year period, we had 6 fires on our street. 5 of them were caused accidentally - wiring too old and dropped napkin on lit stove - or by stupidity - backing car into house, moving the stove, causing gas to flame up; kids playing with matches twice. The last one has yet to be officially determined, took the lives of 6 people, ages 22 down to 7 months, but we in the 'hood all think the mother/grandmother had something to do with it, since she and her boyfriend were the only two to escape unharmed, she didn't attempt to go back into the house to save anyone - a biker and his son from across the street were detained because they tried to go back in as the cops arrived - she had LARGE insurance policies on 4 of the 6 - the son-in-law and granddaughter didn't have anything - and she disappeared with a HUGE amount of money - close to 7 figures  - donated for the 6 funerals and to help her live.

The police haven't found her 8 years later, but they caught the boyfriend a few years ago, in Las Vegas, and that was after he turned himself in.

That is sad, RJ. I've lost loved ones and relatives in house fires. :(

A nurse neighbor was doing cpr on the son--in-law as the cops were looking for more with medical and first aid training. I went to speak up, but my cousin, a supervisor detective at the time, shook his head: The son-in-law was the only one they pulled out that was close to saving. This caused half of the city paramedics to quit, it spooked them that bad.

The house was finally torn down last fall, but the city kept the memorial up. Someone in city hall wants that mother to realize she's not safe from prosecution.
