Basically everyone is angry at the GOP

Since the rumors of shutdown began, the percentage of people angry at President Obama has jumped 3 points; the percentage blaming Democrats, 5 points; the percentage blaming Republicans, 11 points.

It's roughly the same if you ask whether people "strongly disapprove" of how the players are handling themselves. Respectively, those numbers have jumped 4 points, 8 points, and 12 points...

You really think that's a major political victory? I thought the whole Democrat strategy in shutting down the government was to get the people to place all blame on the Republicans and basically destroy the party. After the media constantly pimping the theme that the "Republicans shut down the government," I think its at best a hollow victory with those kinds of numbers. I might even call it a major failure. Certainly no KO, and certainly a misleading title to your thread.

If the liberal Republicans hadn't spent their time going on the attack against others in their own party and had instead hammered home the message that they were willing to fund everything except Obamacare, this could have been a major victory for them. The Democrats took a major gamble and damn near lost.

If the GOP had presented a united message and bought a half an hour block on network TV to present their side of the argument, they could have scored a major victory here. Political ineptitude on both sides.

*points and laughs at not-Republican Retard Ruse*

Only on Planet Retard is the government shutdown a "Democrat Strategy".

You, AJ and Vetty have been pushing that odious revisionist meme for two weeks, and to your utter shock, virtually nobody is buying your snake oil.

Better luck next smear!

Not a chance in hell.

Still clingin' to that "it's all about teh optics" derp?

"If only we messaged a little better"?

Newsflash: This manufactured "crisis" has only proven that defunding Obamacare is the pet cause of a very very small slice of the American populace.

No more "do overs" on Obamacare.

We beat you.

America won. You lost. Seek grief counseling if you must, but I urge you to deal with your loss.

Washington Post / ABC News poll data

Full citation please? Source besides the one stated? Is it Fox BS or is it MSNBC BS? One source does not confirm a source. If you cannot provide at least three sources it is not considered accurate.

College 101 please? I mean really, I could place an editorial in the Huffington with the confirmation you've provided. Is that really valid?

I cited the poll data, you're free to dispute it if you like. Three citations? This isn't a fucking college term paper, it's a Message board.

Take a look at the data if you have an issue. The fact that you're playing this game is likely because you couldn't find a source (other than Cruz's poll) that deviates from this.

What college term paper asks for three sources for every piece of data?

Sounds like one appalachian hasn't made it out of grade school.

No the Democratic strategy was not to shut down the government.

Basically everyone is NOT everyone...Tired of having liberals telling me how I am supposed to feel.. The POTUS is 100% to blame, in my opinion....

Liberals are not telling you how you are supposed to feel, but if you are satisfied with the performance of elected Republican officials, you are basically alone.

House Republicans want to dismantle the ACA.

The ACA is a law.

Dismantle means to break.

Alas, that's where they fucked up, the Republicans should have just sat back and watch the whole ACA fuck itself up, because you know who's gonna get really fucked by this, the Middle classes, must have been Politicians thinking, again.

If the GOP really thought it was going to fail, that's what they would do.

Their greatest fear is it will succeed. They'll be stuck in another 50 years as minority party and have to wait for another Dwight Eisenhower before they ever again see the inside of the White House.

So you're point is that the people think both parties are shit but one is slightly less stinky. Yay for them.

Elections have consequences. Get off your ass and do something about 2014.
That's more than a year away. By then we'll have more huge piles of shit for people to argue about which one smells less.

It's enough. To win elections, you don't need to be perceived as a good choice, but only as the better or least-bad choice.
