Baseball!

Yes, but you realize Prior is trying to make a comeback this spring -- with the Reds. Managed by Dusty Baker, the very man who ruined his earlier career. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Dusty owes him a couple of million dollars and favours for shredding his arm.

Less than two weeks 'til opening day...haven't been this up for it in 15 years or so

Sitting here watching Strasburg as we speak. He looks strong.

I always looked forward to Zambrainless' starts against the Cardinals. You knew that at least once a year he was going to totally lose it and make a complete ass of himself. But he also was a pretty good pitcher -- if he could have harnessed his emotions and kept his brain in the game.

Don't want to bum people out today on this Friday, but please say a prayer for my kids Baseball Assistant Coach at our Rec Center. he was killed in a auto accident late yesterday afternoon not far from where I work yesterday. Please pray for his family and the kids with me.... He son evens wants to go to practice today because him and his Dad so loved Baseball. Brought tears to my eyes when someone just read that to me on Facebook. The whole town probably will show up tonight at practice. We live in really small town and most everybody's kids do sports together... So just pray with for the family and my son's team, very sad day in our little town...

Same here, Prof. The Cardinals are going to be good enough to contend, but there are so many kids -- relatively speaking -- on the team that it will be interesting to watch. Thank God we have the best catcher in baseball to guide all the young pitchers.

The coach, his family, the town and especially the kids are in my thoughts.

Oh no. They are in my thoughts as well. That's heartbreaking.

I get the MLB.tv HD package every year. $130 and so long as you have high-speed Internet, it's just like watching TV, though minus the commercials. Sometimes I plug the laptop into the 50" and watch with friends.

And when you can't watch, your subscription lets you listen to home or away radio broadcasts. This comes in particularly handy when I was in the office very late.

In the past I had bought the Extra Innings package from our cable company. Last year I got rid of it though because the EI package didn't show anything in HD. I went with mlb.tv and have not regretted it at all. Less money for the package and you get to choose from the home or away feed for most games.

I live in Las Vegas so I'm blacked out for 6 teams (D'Backs, Padres, Dodgers, Giants, A's, and Angels) because we are in their 'home market' (don't even get me started on those archaic rules). But when I watched games on mlb.tv last year I was able to watch ALL the games and wasn't blacked out at all. I'm not sure if it was a glitch, if it's because they don't show the commercials, or what. I'm very happy with it though.

You, the kids and your town have my sympathies.

*bump for a new weeks' crowd*
Less than a week to go before the games start to count. who do you think will win it all.

I want Texas to win but it seems the front office dropped the ball this off season, so I am going to pick Detroit.....But root for Texas......:):):)

Anyone else interested in joining the lit fantasy baseball keeper league? We need one more owner to take over the last available team. (last years owner is a no show).

Very hard to tell this season. If I had to pick, I think Detroit and Washington are the class of their respective leagues.

Detroit takes it all.

Cardinals fan here. Moved from FL to STL the year Florida got the Marlins and was not a baseball fan at all. One Cardinals game and i was a Redbird fan.

Looking forward to April 8th against the Reds. I think this is going to be an interesting year for us.

I love the pace of the game. I don't want to hurry it up with instant replay or putting a clock on the pitcher.

Also, not a DH fan. You're getting paid a boat load of money. Hit the darn ball!

Hey Islandman,

What's up with Doc this year? I keep hearing that velo's down, etc? I still try to keep something of an eye on him, even after he left my team.
