I admit that my guiding political and economic philosophy—libertarianism—now shapes my reporting, in this way: It prompts me to ask questions that others don't ask.

I don't claim to be the expert. But some of my colleagues who write about business know nothing about economics. Many are comically hostile to profit—they dismiss it as "greed" (although they bargain for the highest salaries possible).

On my former ABC blog, some people called me a biased "conservative."

"Your (sic) a shill anyways John. dont (sic) let the door hit you in the you know what."

I'm surprised that the self-described enemies of intolerance can't tolerate even one MSM reporter who doesn't share their statist premises. The interventionist state has been the status quo for generations, so I must be something other than "conservative." "Liberal" is what my philosophy used to be called. It's the statists who are the reactionaries.

Remember you asked the first word of chapter ten and I had the book right next to me?

You look more stupid with each passing day.

It is not enough to own a book. You have to read it, Slug. It helps if you read it with comprehension. If you were familiar with The Road to Serfdom, you would not have been so surprised by my quotes that proved that F. A. Hayek was opposed to laissez faire capitalism. You would not have made the preposterous remark that those quotes were out of context.

He's merely "book smart..."

I mean "Wiki smart."

I read books, magazines, and newspapers from many view points. You waste computer memory posting an average of 62.79 glib, vacuous posts a day. Wikipedia is one of many sources I use to document facts that I use in arguments I compose myself. Your links are mainly to a few ideological websites.

Frisco_Slug_Esq/Cap'n/AJ has taken several community college courses. To imply he's not intelligent and a keen observer of current events is unfair and inaccurate.

I seem to recall him claiming to have a double major in mathematics and computer science, and claiming to be a college professor. I also seem to remember him writing about the karate tournaments he has won.

No doubt about it. Frisco/Cap'n's credentials are impressive. Hell, he did it all before he was 18. Then there were the stints as a Navy SEAL, chef to Japanese royalty and reconfiguring the Daytona International Speedway track.

How does that lucky bastard do it??

Was he opposed to Capitalism? Or was he opposed to Socialism, but allowed the caveat that government should, occasionally, as in war or monopoly, use it's resources for defense or to protect the marketplace.

And yet, you still take the quote out of the context of his arguments against those of your political outlook and how lying becomes acceptable to them in the pursuit of goals...

Yes and yes to the degrees, I lecture at the request of some professors, and yes, I have won many tournaments and taught many students.

Unlike most of my critics, I have lived a full and productive life.

You forgot to add, I joined the Marines at 17, back in the early 70's...

I was a rifleman and a weatherman, the latter, not of the Barack Obama variety...

Lie by omission.

Like cherry picking quotes and ignoring the main thrust of the point.

The lie of the doublethink means toward a goal...

I also seem to remember that you worked at a meat plant in the 1980's. How did that fit into your busy schedule?

Two mathematics questions were posted on the Literotica General Board. You did not step forward to answer them. I do not know where you were. You seem to live here. BTW, I got the second one right.
