Just came back from vacation and now they tell me that the company i work for is declared bankrupt.

Pretty shitty. I am a bit flabbergasted and baffled.

So what now???

Extended vacation...

Life throws some curveballs at you.

You have to be patient at the plate and wait for one to hang, then knock it out of the Ball Park!

Same as...... literally just came out of a meeting where I was handed my redundancy notice....

Heyho.... great time for going it on my own.....

Take a deep breath and look forward to new experiences honey :rose:

Thanks SINthysist and Cally for your kind words.

It is so sudden i have no clue what to do or what i want. Same kind, different kind of job, starting something of my own as you are....

Be eternal optimists (Cally and Mokum).

Think of it as an opportunity to do bigger and netter things.

Just don't look back.

If all else fails, take an escape from responsibility and head off to school for more education and the ability to pay more taxes :D !

So true....... the only thing that'll change is the address of your workplace.... pals, contacts etc will all remain - if you want them to :rose:

no chapter 11 ?

just over and out ?

Go and get yourself a new job then. Chin up.
And if you ever thought about changing something in your life, take this as an opportunity to start.

But isn't it just typical for a dull, dank November day?

So are they going to liquidate the whole company, or sell it off and restructure it? I take it they let everyone go?

I think this is just the end of it. Heard someone say that the creditors are going to empty the building at december 2nd. So i have still 2 weeks behind this desk and than find myself another one.

Been there and done that too many times. Brush up your resume and get out there and start looking!

That has got to suck big time, Move to Canada, tonnes of work up here.

Just not eastern Canada. Nothing over here. Unless you have about 5 years and want to flip a burger. Stick to the middle and western parts of Canada.

Yeah, BC, Alberta, Sask(even I know its scary)

Alberta is rocking for business right now..

Bummer

So now you work til you get let go, collect unemployment til you get a new job... and life goes on...

Well, tomorrow the trustee is coming, writing all things down he can sell. Think i will take some things home to me which i believe are mine because i work so long with them :)

I have no idea. You might want to go if you're still getting paid to, but spend your time making contacts, looking for a new job and revamping your resume.
