I think I finally found my dream girl. Well to cut to the chase, we have a date this friday, but, I want to impress her, or do something fun and romantic. The only problem is

a. we dont live near any big urban areas. so that rules clubs out.
b. i just dont think movies are a good way to connect on a first date
c. the only things near us are bars, and the chance to walk around the mall. But those are both cliche.

I know this is a corny question.....but do you guys have any ideas? Or do you think that just walking around downtown, getting some coffee and chatting is a good idea?

----personally i was thinking something around those lines, and then just doing something totally romantic. Anyway, do you guys have any ideas or suggestions, it would be most appreciated.

would driving out into the middle of a park and asking her to dance to some foreigner or zz top on the roof of her car be considered romantic? or a good move?

Why not hit a burger joint or Taco Bell or something similar, then ask her what she wants to do? Have a few things in mind, make a few suggestions, then let her choose.

ball game would be a bad idea, unless you took her to a bluejay's game :)

I would say coffee shop. Think about it. Normally you sit a smaller table. There quiet yet people will be there. I say coffee shop or something along those lines. NO TACO BELL, unless you want to Walk home from the start.:D

Hell even i know not to take a girl to a taco bell or burger king. Thats just nasty and asking to be called cheap.

I'm with you P-ball...........NO TACO HELL!! Screams cheap bastard all over!
Dave, the coffee shop sounds nice, or perhaps you might fix a basket up and have a picnic in the park sort of thing. Bottle of wine, cheeses, etc. You could have some soft background music that would encourage conversation, possibly asking her to dance after a glass or two of wine.....

-kym- >>sigh<< would love to go on a moonlit picnic with MY-Sir :(

I am not one to add insight, but if I may toss my two cents in:

The fact that you've thought it this well through already speaks well for how you feel about this woman. Perhaps something as simple as a coffehouse will do. A situation to sit and converse with her - a comfortable setting for her allowing her to feel free while you are permitted to exercise your charm and understanding.

You don't have to blow her socks off. So long as she likes you and is willing to get together for another date in the future should be all thet you need. You can work it from there. Good luck!

something differnet

go for something off the wall but fun. my first date with my wife i took her out to eat,(not taco hell) but to a nice small place were we could talk. then we went to a small bar that had karaoke that night. the first song that i sang that nite was "my ding-a-ling" it is a funny little song for the ones that have heard it and i sang it to her. after that we had the best time that we ever could. like i said try something fun and differnt

I have always been fond of doing a little something unusual..... Especially during the day rather than nighttime if your trying to get to no someone......some things ive tried have been a picnic at a park, the zoo, even went go cart racing once(her idea) just about anyplace you can relax and have a good time but still communicate.... group activities are always a plus as it helps prevent those awkward moments when you dont know what to say.... basic rule have fun and talk
