Back Story Help.

Been working on a story about a guy returning from college and am stuck on a little detail. I have four older women characters, one of which is his aunt and cousin who move in with his mom and sis while he is at college with the cousin taking his room. While I have the other older three women’s back story down. Mom is a middle class widow, best friend’s mom is a poor single mom who raised her kids alone, and girlfriend’s mom is a rich divorcee, I haven’t really figured out the aunt’s story and why she moved in with his mom. I have the characters look and personality figured out but the back story just isn't clicking in my head.

I would say the aunt is his dead father's sister. Her husband died as well, and both the aunt and the mom had trouble making their house payments. So they move in together to share expenses.

Though I didn't think the moving in was about money. I thought she just hated the idea of being alone, wanted family close... who knew how close they'd become????
