Authors Hangout Garbage Dump

It just occurred to me that scouries is the Oscar of the AH. He has his own stinking trash can right here.

ETA: Yep, that edit function is still working y'all. :nana: :nana: :nana:

Gabby is like Ocar's pet worm...What's his name? Squirmy?

Now, really-- you can't compare scouries to Oscar the Grouch-- it's like comparing a shrivelled old hot dog to a fine Filet Mignon (Oscar being a fairly fine fellow, all told).
And his pet worm doesn't have a blow-up plug.

Personally, I can't see that Scouries is the anything at all of the AH. He's the wanna-be of the AH, maybe...

Stella,

To Scouries the AH is a gang banging hoard out to get him. We are his paranoia incarnate. We are the reason he has never won a contest or got in the to 500 list of his beloved category, incest. We vote him down and vote ourselves up. It's a conspiracy.

Actually, none of us gave a rats ass but he is fun to fuck with. ;) :D

Tilt. A group of you most certainly do gang bang Scouries and are "out to get" Scouries, who invites it and seems to revel in it--and if you didn't give a rat's ass about him/her, you'd neither always rise to the bait Scouries so frequently and generously lays nor delight in fucking with him/her. It's ludicrous to deny that he/she isn't the favorite "regulars" punch--by both punchee and puncher choice. But as long as all sides are enjoying themselves, it's indeed fun. (Just a horse laugh to deny.)

Who'd deny it?

I keep putting him on ignore-- and then a few weeks go by, I need to eliminate something corrosive from my system, I check up on what he's most recently said, and there's my target. I've seen this on almost every forum I've ever been a member of, going back to the nineties.

Every social group finds a punching bag, and, unfortunately, the internet truly favours this rather extreme version of that dynamic.

This "putting on ignore" threat dimension always gives me the giggles. Internet chatters live for the postings of those they like to say they've put on ignore.

Yeah, I've seen that same thing, I don't get it either. Or people who threaten that they are going to "Kick Ass" on another poster. Or "You'll be sorry you started on me" type talk...

I ignore for my own reasons, and I never 'threaten' with it-- I rarely even mention that I'm going to do so. On this forum, ignore does two things only; it makes invisible the threads begun by the ignoree, and leaves the viewing of posts in other threads up to the ignorer. It's easy to click on the "view this post" link and belie your own ignore. That's the way I most often use it, just to clean the political threads out of a forum where I come to flirt and talk about erotica- I'd put Pure on ignore, if I could, but still chat with him in other threads. It's because I pretty much know what some people are going to talk about, and this is the internet equivalent of moving to another place in the room in real life.

When I first came here there was a poster who would insert pictures of women bathing in shit, women vomiting, bukkakke type stuff, as a "blow for free speech" Everyone put her on ignore, because the stuff was work unsafe-- to say the least.

I'm pretty sure I still have her on ignore.

I also have scouries on ignore, though I haven't gotten around to his ten alter egos yet, which is why I can still see this thread.

I don't "live" for scouries' postings. I've never replied to them. Hell, I'm surprising myself by replying to this thread. I never go back and read his posts either, though occasionally someone uses the quote function and I can't help it. I never usually inform people that I've put them on ignore. I wisely stay the hell away from them in the first place, so there's no reason I see for me to interact with them at all.

There are always a few who get a thrill out of the posts by people they supposedly ignore. They are also the people most likely to reply. But there is also an unknown amount of people here who simply want scouries to shut the fuck up, and those are the ones who put him on ignore and do not add fuel to the fire. There really is no way of knowing that number, but I know there are a few.

oh, I totally admit it-- when I see him talk about Danielle or SSarah, I get all butch and possessive- which makes me laugh, since I certainly don't "own" either one of them...

Then go give DK a hand on his other thread.

Oh, I know. But what could I post that would make him shut up?

Nothing. That's the way of the internet. I just hate that it turns the AH into the GB.

Brings interesting thoughts to my mind . . .
