I just came out of the shower, looked in the mirror while doing my hair, and saw...
MY MOTHER!!!

Emergency trip to the hairdresser tomorrow - this must be rectified immediately.

LOL!!!!

Ain't that a scary thing!!!! I'm sure there's a rampant pixie who showers mother-channeling dust on unexpecting women, just to get that reaction.

I think it's worse when you've just spoken to your children and lost your voice in horror at the words - straight from your mother's mouth - that you've just unleashed on the offspring!:eek:

Heh - having had my mother live with us for a while, I am reliably informed by my children that I sound NOTHING like my mother.
But to come out of the shower and see my hair looking so much like hers has freaked me the fuck OUT!

I am almost in tears :(

No!!! Not required!

You'll go get primped and snipped and wonder where tf that vision ever came from.

Have a kind thought for my poor daughter. she's soooo much like me, already. Poor, poor cherub. :(:(

I like having the longer hair - I just want it to look completely different.
Thinking maybe loads of layers...
I'm also going to put a vibrant red in over the top of the brown.

Fortunately my daughter doesn't look a thing like me - or unfortunately, as it happens

Be still my beating heart...a woman who can't shop...now the trick is to harvest that gene and ensure it multiplies at warp factor 9. We wouldn't need daylight savings with all that extra time.

Shopping deals only ended the other week. Seems Boxing Day sales now extend for all of Jan. Then don't forget at the end of Feb is the end of summer sales, then the new season sales, then of course Easter, etc, etc.

Actually I do remember some clothing shops in Acland St. I tend to look like the local security when waiting outside these shops. I mainly go to Acland St. for the cakes, yummo!

Hey Elf, BANDIT:heart: dosen't have the shopping gene either.:D

I'm sure your exaggerating even though it has been a lot of years since we last saw each other.

Hi ICR, Hope you doing your best to keep dry up there.

Hey Gil, it was a bit wet but back to hot and humid :(

As long as the rain doesn't prevent the road trip to Sydney and Hellsville I am planning in April I don't mind a bit of the wet stuff.

seems as though plenty both sides of the border have had more than their fair share.

How are you & the boys doing?

I was a bit sick for a few weeks but slowly getting better. The boys are both well.

How about you guys?

What date is the meet again?

BANDIT:heart: returned from NZ with a bug which she shared with me but much better now, BANDIT has still got a tickle cough & I'm OK.

BANDIT:heart: is one happy Granny.

Orlanth has this in his sig line.
For next years Aussies get togather I am planning to have it at Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane. so I am hoping for everyone to be able to stay here (that is for those who do not live in Brisbane) and to meet up at the hotel bar for drinks. The get togather will be on the 19th of May 2012

Urk - I am so glad today is over!
Did the school thing with the kidlet. Checked into school and got all the books. Then off to town to find black school shoes and a new bag. $130 later, and we have an acceptable bag and a pair of black skate shoes (can't wear regulation shoes coz that's not cool  )
Off to emergency haircut appt next, feeling much better because now I don't look like my mother any more... but couldn't find the exact shade I want to put over my brown. That will have to wait till friday now.
Met up with daughter, who is hellbent on getting a new piercing, even tho she's pregnant. Made my objections EXTREMELY clear about that!
Then I got a call from the man, who tells me he's off to work this Friday - and needs to be at the airport at the exact same time I need to be at the hospital for my ortho consult (the one I've been waiting 8 months for!)
So I called no1son who is out of town visiting friends, told him he needs to return tomorrow so he can do chauffer duty early on Fri, and copped an earful because that's "cutting into MY time"

It's just been one of THOSE day, yanno?

Early on BANDIT:heart: was a bit grumpy & I heard many times "I don't want to be a granny" :( but the further the time went the more accepting she became a happy Granny with a brag album she carries around just incase she meets someone she she can show the pics too.
