Thats great and often its only a small thing that can make all the differance to the outcome. simple things like wooden wedges to stop a car rocking and hold it still so you can work on whos traped

It was good to get a close up view of the jaws of life being used to as we had only been shown them static prior to this although even the jaws had trouble dealing with the crome molly that the chassis are made of.

Might need to look into that, one big problem was getting the ambo & fire guys to undrestand that their road car training was different to the skills need at the speedway but I spoke with them & we will try to get them closer involved so that they too have the knowledge we have pick up.
One of the cops asked how fast the car was going when it crash & was amazed at the estimated speed Aprox 70 MPH on a dirt/clay oval & when told that the sprintcars are even faster the look of amazement was priceless.
Well real life calls & I must attend as BANDIT  is having a well earned sleep in, I'm so blessed to have this wonderful lady in my life.

Its good to hear you are meeting new people - that is always good for us single parents.

As for the problems taking your daughter back to her mum, that may well happen til she is old enough to really understand how things are.

My ex and I have a really good relationship - he has spent several days at my home fixing my car for me. He occaisionally eats with us, and recently we went to one daughters school concert as a family. They all still say they don't want to leave me to go to his house, and then they don't really want to come home. It does help with us that regardless of our relationship, we as parents are a united front. We agree on household rules that are the same for both houses and are very civil with each other in front of them. If a major issue occurs we sit down together, work out a solution and deal with it accordingly. He will sleep at my house on Christmas eve, so he can see their joy when santa has been and have Christmas lunch with us. We intend to take the kids on holiday to QLD next year together. I asked him to come with us as I feel it is only fair that he see their little faces when they go to the theme parks for the first time.

After that, and as they get older, we will probably do less together so as it won't be so important to them. But I never wanted them to suffer because their dad and I don't love each other.

And even after all of that they still find it difficult to leave the other parent. I just remind them that if I hadn't have moved them to Vic they would only see their dad on their birthdays and Christmas, so they are very lucky to have what they have.

It may take time but I am sure that things will settle eventually for you.

<sigh>

We too could have had something like this. But unfortunately, she chose to be the selfish one.. And took care of herself first, and everything else second..

Happy Birthday to you...

evening all? its very quiet in here today.

when I heard the news this morning my first thought was 'oh no, not again'. I find it so sad and disheartening that we live in a world where that is my first reaction - that things like this happen so frequently we are, although always sad, resigned to it happening. i know we will hear the amazing stories of survival and mateship in the next few weeks, and I constantly draw strength from the humanity that comes out of disasters like taht. I felt like I needed to say something.

Other than that I've been up and down.

Had a drag of a night at work on saturday night. Just still sick so it was a struggle t get through the 5 hours (it wasnt even that long!)

But this morning I got u pat 5am and went down the coast to Caloundra to go swimming/surfing early. That was fantastic. I love the sea, and my friend is teaching me to surf and I got up on my knees/crouching in a wave which was exhilarating as it was the first time I'd done it! Going back in a couple of weeks to do it again :D

I'm feeling a bit down tonight though. Don't know why.

Hugs to everyone!

Hiya Pim nice to see you.

Yes it is very quiet in here.

How wonderful you are learning to surf.

sorry to hear you are feeling down. I get like that occasionally, unexplainable feelings of "downnes". Hope you feeling better soon.

I have been okay - up and down like you.

I think you are right - you have the rest of your life to experience Australian summers, take this chance to live a white christmas while you can.

Everything is fine with me - I am over my flu finally.

I think it will be a long night for me too. I am madly cleaning my house because my mum and dad are coming home early. I am so glad they warned me.

The only time I ever clean my house like a mad woman is when Trev is coming over or when mum and dad are due home. They live in a caravan and are travelling around Australia. Around Oct/Nov every year they come back to my place and help look after my girls while I work long hours over Christmas. Then they leave again around Feb/Mar. I am so excited that they are so close to being here. I have been laughing and crying at the same time tonight.

I haven't told my daughters yet. They will very surprised when their Grandma and Grandpa pick them up from school tomorrow. I can't wait to see their little faces tomorrow afternoon.

My girls (Zoe, Amy and Ella) will be very happy. Tonight Amy was in the bath and she said to me 'What if Grandma and Grandpa came home tomorrow, I can't wait to see them'. I could hardly keep the truth to myself after that statement. So there will be lots of excitement tomorrow here.

Watched Serenity tonight...

Rocked!!

But then... I knew it would.. I loved the series (Firefly) as well..
