Aussies! Check in here!

So are you an Espresso girl or like the more trendy blends? I mean Mocka anything...what the hell is that? Don't get me started on Baby Chinos.

To be honest, I'll drink whatever, as long as it tastes good. I'm not a coffee snob at all. And I do like a good mocha every now and then - I mean come on! Chocolate and coffee are two glorious flavours, so the combination can only be a good thing if the ratio is right :D

Hey there.... :)

I have been fairly busy for the past few weeks, helping out with the new baby and also with daughter et al moving house...
This week will be slow though - I have 2 cracked ribs to set the pace for me! (Only I can manage to trip over air... )

Windy as hell here today.

Hey WQ,

Sounds like you're looking after two generations. I spent some time yesterday playing with my nephew's 6yr old daughter and yep I spoiled her with lollies.

You probably need an early warning system around the house or wrap yourself in bubble wrap.

Since its so windy I hope you're wearing knickers :D

I have become a coffee snob :(
I blame my ex.... he's a coffee roaster. I quickly learned that 99% of coffee is either over-roasted (burnt) or is blended with Robusta beans (cheap, bitter coffee beans from Asia).
Now I only drink certain coffees.... and never, ever from franchises!

I must admit I'm not a hot choc fan, find it too sweet. Got used to drinking my coffee black when visiting the US on my various trips. They don't get instant coffee. "You guys drink what..that's not coffee."

Worst coffee I've ever had was in Turkey. Was a nice view down my the harbour but the coffee was like mud. They even give you a small glass of water with it. Wasn't sure if I should tip the glass of water in the cup or the other way around. I then understood why they drink so much tea.

Knickers? What? :D

Actually, the wind is from the south, so I'm wrapped up warm today.

I drink freshly ground, brewed coffee. Black.
With a pinch of salt.

Afternoon all,

Well its NFL day. A good way to spend a rainy windy Monday. A day for the ladies to wear appropriate dresses including underwear, especially when there is a camera crew shooting a piece for the daily news.

Ah yes wet day timetables. Shorter afternoons, lunch in the shelter sheds playing Jacks/Bones depending on where you're from. Always one kid who tries to cheat by not throwing then up high enough. And playing marbles, don't know whether the kids play that in school anymore. Of course the hot meat pies from the canteen in either the brown paper bag or the Jiffy bags back when Jiffy bags were not bubble wrapped bags.

Hope your week goes quickly. Another month nearly down and closer to Christmas. The time can't go quick enough.

I live in blissful ignorance regarding roasting - as long as the strength is good and it's not burnt or bitter, I'm happy!

I must admit I'm not a hot choc fan, find it too sweet.
That's why I make mine with cocoa and not drinking chocolate - you can make it as sweet (or not) as you like.

Yes well when I travel, I'm exactly like that...just give me coffee anyway I can get it, can't afford to be fussy.
Yep not sold on the cocoa thing then again I'm a bloke. Perhaps living in Melbourne I'm spoiled by the number of coffee shops. Apparently they burn it up in Sydney so my friends tell me.

I don't use salt anywhere else in my cooking. I rely on natural salts from fresh vegies to flavour for me :)

I read..." I don't use salt anywhere else on my body"....:D

Yes I know you can smack me later

I'm the opposite I only use salt in cooking but don't have any on the table. Need salt when cooking curries, brings out the flavour in the meat and also use a touch of vinegar.

Now that's got me thinking of hot chips with vinegar on a cold wet day like today.

To bring out the flavour in my curries, I mince up celery and cook that into the spice mix.
More than enough salt in celery.

I use sugar on my body (sugar scrub), not salt.

Does that mean I can call you "sugar tits" :D

It does bring together the two most fav things I like to put my mouth on.

Afternoon all,

Well we've been waiting for the warmer weather and its here...still. No really, the days have been nice and sunny. Been out in the garden hacking and slashing stuff, trying do my impression of a lumberjack until the rope broke on my branch lopper but managed to repair it. Finally found a use for some of that spare rope.

Good to see the big four have turned a profit in the billions to justify their bonuses what a shame their customers aren't getting any of the love. The word 'customer' should be retitled 'sucker' since their shareholders are their real customers as they freely admit. Its not really the fault of the banks, its their shareholders who are to blame. You can trust them their economists. Similar to divorce lawyers.

I see good old Tony is spreading his philosophy on humanitarianism. He'll be coming up with a plan for Team Europe next. I wonder if there is a way to take away his gold card.

Its also made news that more people are dying from taking selfies in dangerous places...so natural selection is obviously still in the evolution makeup. The sharks are fucking ecstatic.

What a cracking spring day in Melbourne today!

Now is that builder's crack or plumber's crack?

And yes it has been a lovely sunny sweat producing day, nice in the shade though with a light cool breeze.

I don't think I have ever been called sugar tits!

Oh wait..... there was that one time with chocolate body paint...

Well then let me dub thee officially...'Warrior "Sugar Tits" Queen'. We can skip the sword bit and go straight to the official 'Wetting of the Nipples' ceremony. Otherwise the sugar won't stick. I'm always practical.

I hope that the chocolate was the healthy dark choc :D

Seen one tradie crack seen 'em all???

Let's hope the weekend brings more of the same.

Now was that sexy tradie or fat bloke tradie crack?

Well today must have been..."keep the boobs dry" day. Heard the rain start about 1:30 am just as I was going to bed, then woken up several hours later by the thunder. So not good for race goers since there isn't much shelter out there. The bar would already be crowded with those who didn't quite make it outside. The car park people would be pissed. Nothing worse than rain in the champagne and chicken. Just means you have to drink quicker. Hopefully we get a dry Cup.

peeks in to say Hi. :rose:
I miss the old group here on the Aussie Lit thread
but am blessed to know them outside of Lit over in FB land.

Hey gorgeous, good to drop in - are you having a Melb Cup do in Florida for old times sake?

Morning :)

Melbourne Cup day.....are we all having a flutter?
The Melb weather has shifted south for the day - Melb will be sunny, while Launy shivers in drizzle. So does this mean the track is classed as dry? Because it was wet yesterday.....
Ah, the vagaries of chance, dipped in the ever-present speculation of dry/wet/fast/slow!
