Atheist!

Anytime. But, um, I was really thinking the tag fit you. Og is one of the least trollish and most respected members of the forum. For a newbie to call respected and long term members "troll" is just as bizarre as everything else you've posted.
If you are talking about Stella_Omega as Og, he has trolled across several threads, thrown many insults at me (all without cause in my opinion), has failed to enter into dialogue, and has not earned my respect. He is a troll. If this is not the Og of which you speak, please clarify. I will continue to review this Og fellow and hope he is the gentleman you say he is. It would be an honor to apologize to him. This Stella-Omega is surly not the person to whom you refer.

One more thing, just so we understand each other, liberals have a habit of branding any idea that conflicts with their deviant philosophy as bizarre and on this forum, it may appear bizarre but in mainstream America, my ideas are right down the middle of society's view. In mainstream America the extreme liberal is viewed as bizarre. I am trying to answer this loaded question of this thread. If that is where you are coming from, you are not trying to be a peace maker but a troll. By citing facts, there is no way you can defend these trolls on this thread. They have already exposed themselves by visiting my other thread without the desire to participate in the subject matter of the thread. How do you answer that?

I admit to being surly, on many occasions.

But I've never been conflated with Ogg before, It's... humbling. A proud moment in my life.

PLAYBOY: "Has no religion, in your estimation, ever offered anything of constructive value to human life?"

RAND: "Qua religion, no—in the sense of blind belief, belief unsupported by, or contrary to, the facts of reality and conclusions of reason. Faith, as such, is extremely detrimental to human life: it is the negation of reason."

"Playboy's Interview with Ayn Rand," Playboy, March 1964.

Curious that amicus leaves those little tidbits out when trying to recruit allies from the religious right now.

That's Ami, to a tee!

I really resent you equating 'country and mountain' with 'ignorant.' We have a large number of c&m speakers here who are perfectly intelligent. You can't use that as your excuse.
Get off my cross you little deviant from the norm. You can't even decide whether you want to be a man or a woman, how can you decide who is intelligent and who is ignorant.

Damn trolls! Why are they always so ignorant?

Deviant philosophy

In your view perhaps. What makes you certain you are correct?

I'm entering the discussion without knowing the content of the thread, so be patient with me. I'll have a peruse to see what you are nattering about.

The thing I noticed was your description of Og as a troll. Highly surprising, knowing his background.

If I were king, conflating would certainly be illegal.
I'd be an outlaw then...

*is giggling uncontrollably*
Simply priceless!

That's quite possibly the only palatable way to enter this thread at this point.

Yeppers.

This is a trip.

Perhaps a bit of rum would make it more palatable, as well.

Chuckles, wmrs2 is displaying a sense of humor in the midst of chaotic splashing about by the L&A, ya gotta love that and I even get special dispensation for being a 'rational atheist', ahem, I will take that under consideration.

Googled this for you wmrs2, although, with double entendre always in mind, knowing that a few of the more curious L&A will follow the link out of curiosity, always a method to my sanity.

Amicus

Very good, I will order the book today.

See all you trolls, why can't you be helpful like that instead of always falling on your swords?

Athiests, Dykes and Christians, Oh My!

MuHa ha ha ha!

:rose::rose::rose:

Just three roses, it needs to be a lot more literary to get five.

Opps, nodding to the left might not be a very good idea on this thread--unless you're comfortable with being declared Og/Stella/a troll.

Past-Perfect:

Some intellectual dishonesty there and more than a little, 'cherry picking', not to prove a point but sharpen an attack:

"Philosophy is the goal toward which religion was only a helplessly blind groping. The grandeur, the reverence, the exalted purity, the austere dedication to the pursuit of truth, which are commonly associated with religion, should properly belong to the field of philosophy."

["The Chickens' Homecoming," Return of the Primitive: The Anti-Industrial Revolution, 46.]

"[F]aith and force. . . . are corollaries: every period of history dominated by mysticism, was a period of statism, of dictatorship, of tyranny."

["Faith and Force: The Destroyers of the Modern World," Philosophy: Who Needs It, 66.]

"The Middle Ages were an era of mysticism, ruled by blind faith and blind obedience to the dogma that faith is superior to reason. The Renaissance was specifically the rebirth of reason, the liberation of man's mind, the triumph of rationality over mysticism—a faltering, incomplete, but impassioned triumph that led to the birth of science, of individualism, of freedom."

From that self-same Playboy interview...

You could have quoted me, also, PP, as I have often said the religion was man's first attempt to intellectually deal with the reality he found himself born into.

I am an atheist, wmrs2 is well aware of that and she will accept or not accept what she chooses. But for you to defend your lack of conviction by assaulting mine, wmrs2's or Ms. Rands, is a weak and miserable attempt at best.

Amicus...

Sub Joe is going to be very sad when he sees what a hash has been made out of such an old post.
With your superior trolling intelligence, why did you not join the discussion and rescue the thread? I have not finished answering the thread, there still time for you to save it, troll.

Trolling?

Is that the fishing term?

Across several threads?

I do contribute to several threads. I even start some. But I don't think I have been pursuing wmrs2 across threads.

I became disillusioned with the circular convulted "logic" and gave up.

I think that Stella deserves to be allowed to borrow my hat.

:D

Consider me as a Devil's Advocate, something I've always aspired to be.

And I think that wmrs2 needs a bit of instruction as to what actually constitutes a forum troll.

Wonders if she's wandered over to the Christian thread yet to learn?

And a beautiful hat it is, Ogg. Good to see you again.
