It has happened - I find it about a 50/50 split. It's always best when the pursuit is mutual and becomes a dance of anticipation.

I'm not a big horror fan, but Stephen King is an amazing writer. His novel, It, is probably one of his scariest. Although I liked The Shining better (and thought the book was better than a pretty great movie version).

It was a good year all in all, in that I didn't lose anyone close. I've got a list of people I've lost over the years and they'll be remembered.

When you celebrate holidays do you infuse them with your own meaning, or is the standard/commercial meaning enough?

It's a split family so the kids began to make joke about same party/different house. It led to an entire focus shift. We make fun finger foods, play games, whatever they want it to be as long as we're together..

Fast forward - recovered from injury with minimal lasting effects, ended the relationship and am now single, and crossed the threshold so that I could retire today (financially) though I've got no intentions to do so. It's been a fairly significant five year stretch.

Odds are that five years ago you wanted something significant you didn't have. What was it and did you get it?
