Asians Thread

Hi Gusty, Hi Shingen :)

I don't like ants. But I love lizards, even though I'm afraid of them. In my old apartment, there were 2 lizards in my kitchen who kept me company while I was cooking. But now in my new place, no lizards. Sayang!

It seems like lizards have old souls, even the baby lizards.

Take care, Gusty Patootie. Walang problema!

Hi Mia...I have lots of alligator lizards in my back yard. We can go catch them and then release them elsewhere.

Lizards are good luck btw.

Hi Shingen :)

I don't know what an alligator lizard is. Is that like a monitor lizard, the ones that grow up to 3 feet in length? Do they bite???

Yes, I was taught that lizards are good luck and to not disturb them or try to get rid of them. The worst thing I've seen happen is one fell from a wall to my friend's back, but they're not vicious.

Hello... Love your pictures! One day, I'm gonna go to Singapore...some day, I hope.

But I loved this pic! Bwhahahahaha!

I think he had too many chickens for a day....he'll be back for the rest. (Reminds me of Snorlax! "Snooooorlax") :D

Thanks Shotokan07, Gusty was busy bargaining with the old ladies and when I saw that guy snoozing there... I just had to capture it... :D

I then turned and caught her ?????? singing??

if those market ladies only knew that we had just come back from taking nakey pictures in the woods

BTW, these pics were taken in the rural suburbs of Beijing.. and I will be getting a whole bunch of market pictures ready for Gusty to post shortly

An alligator lizard looks like an alligator but nearly as big. Maybe about 12 inches at full maturity. Yes, they do bite but I've never been bitten. My friend did and he says it stings a little. but they have no teeth.

When I was in Hawaii, we had geckos all over the place...

Thanks for the pics hong and Gusty...it's nice to see China in a different way, apart from what the rest of the world sees on the media...

thanks Shingen.... Beijing is actually a pretty modern city, however in the countryside... we still have donkey's hauling construction materials... either that or belching little tractors....

sorry the quality of these pics aren't up to what I post on artsy fartsy, but ... what the heck right???

I am going to post one more pic.. and leave the rest for Gusty to link in.....

notice the lovely curvature of somebodies rear while she is checking out utensils ;)

there are so many things we take for granted while living here... and sometimes it is hard to put "newbie" eyes on and look at the world around us with wonder :D
