Oh THAT'S what you were doing! I thought you were teaching her how to gargle! ;)

Originally posted by Shingen An alligator lizard looks like an alligator but nearly as big. Maybe about 12 inches at full maturity. Yes, they do bite but I've never been bitten. My friend did and he says it stings a little. but they have no teeth.

When I was in Hawaii, we had geckos all over the place...

Did you grow up in HI, Shingen?

I find it strange to have lizards and squirrels in the same forest here.

Oh you're one of those customers who is VERY VERY picky, eh? A dirty bag for your food? LOL! Just teasing you Gusty.

I love tofu. That's a huge block of do fu. And no thanks, no pig's blood for me. There are a few countries that use pig's blood for stew--Philippines, England, that I know of. And I think in Scotland, they make it into sausages. :( Bleah. My relatives laugh at me because I can't eat the blood pudding.

What do Chinese people do with pig's blood???

Bencoolen St.

I took some pictures for the Asian Thread :)

This one shows the Museum of History (white building) in the background. Sorry about the traffic! There's so much construction going on in the Bras Basah/Stamford Rd. area to add more stations to the MRT (subway train).

It's so sad to see trees being torn down to make way for new buildings, roads and trains.

Just ran to the kitchen to make sure my chicken-rice porridge isn't burning :D

I'll post one more picture now and a few more tonight. This shows a young example of my favorite kind of tree here. It's called a rain tree and was originally imported to Singapore from South America.

I love rain trees because their branches spread wide like umbrellas, but their leaves are not too thick so sunshine can filter through but not the heat.

In my fantasy home, I would have a long, winding driveway lined with rain trees on both sides!

"I feel like Chicken Tonight"

*grin*

Sorry sexy I don't have any asian pics, although I did spend 2 weeks in Thailand about 5 years ago, does that count?

So you can't open my pictures? :(

How do I post them in the message and not as attachments?

yes we can open your pictures.... are you scanning prints??

posting in messages is a little bit trickier. I purchased space on a site called boomspeed.com a while ago when Lit was having problems with attaching pics.. You can actually get some space free from them (about 30 pics or so).

Gusty still doesn't know how to navigate herself around on the computer network here at home, and also doesn't have the photo editors I have on my computer for resizing pics etc., so I upload the pics to my boomspeed account and she then puts and "img" link to our boomspeed location into her posts, which is how you post them in the message.

btw... Hi :)

Ohhh, I see. Ah so deska.

Thanks for that explanation. Some of my pictures are scanned and some are from a digital camera memory stick. The ones I took today are from the digital, of course.

Hi back, hong :)

Shop Houses

are so awesome. These are along Outram Road leading away from the city.

Gusty, if you lived in a shophouse, you could have your art studio downstairs and your living quarters upstairs. One time I visited someone who lived in a converted shop house and she had a fish pond INSIDE her living room :) But she had to drain it because it became a breeding place for mosquitos. :( But she turned it into a small indoor garden. :D Happy ending!
