Here's another early one that I did. I did it from a Gunther Blum photograph that I came across. Again, it started out as an exercise in illustrating hair, but then I really started looking at Blum's style of photography and started to find a style in that which I wanted to keep. I basically liked the B&W Infrared effect and started using that more after this illustration.

After the first illustration that I did involving a woman's pee (Posted earlier in this thread) I happened across a number of photos that seemed to lend well to the subject matter. None of them involved the liquid being as detailed as the first one, but I couldn't resist perverting the original pics with this subject matter just for the fun of it...

I liked the letting go V because of the pose. I could do without the fluids. LOL
But her pose is powerful, very proud in fact.
And I like the way her hair looks plastered.

I can see her doddering on the beach. Something very touching in this one.
Perhaps because of the way her legs are a bit bent?

Well done. I had the same thought when I saw this about the woman lumbering on the beach. It's a good image with a lot of potential to inspire a lot of different thoughts. Cool piece.

For the folks who may want to pose for an artist...

I've ran into a number of women who have told me that they'd like to pose for an artist, but they're self-conscious of some of what they consider to be "flaws" on their bodies.

I basically tell them all the same thing: My pencils, pens, paintbrushes or any of the other materials that I might use to create artworks with, don't have to see, or reflect, anything that one considers to be a flaw.

Now obviously this can't apply to every potential model. Making a woman who is grossly obese into a 110 pound-looking piece of artwork simply isn't realistic. However, a grossly obese individual can be done with a style, flare and absence of the typical cellulite pitting that is usually present on this body type. Roundness is always fun to work with and can typically create a fun and pleasant peace of work.

That was an extreme example, but consider also how many women out there have stretch marks for one reason or another and they'd like a rendering that reflects their body without those marks, or varicose veins, or scars, etc.

An artist can do a great deal of good things with a body that one might consider imperfect, while still remaining true to the subject.

The neon is really appropriate and seems to work despite the loud colors. Nice job.

I had some "in-progress" illustrations laying around and I was going to post some of them to show the processes of the work. But now I can't find them...

Thanks, I was thinking of neon lights of a night club, the setting of the story I'm working on, so I the other loud color in the pallet or than the hot pink is that electric blue.

Nice images. After seeing BS's pin up thread I was inspired. Brought out the pencil and paper. Tried to draw a female body. It sucked. And I'm supposed to be an art teacher this whole week at school.

I so wish I could draw bodies! Then I could actually contribute to this thread. Will have to dig up the few drawings I've managed to do.

What I love most about art is being able to see how the artist view the things that I see.
