Autumn’s Calls

Strident calls filter
Through the air
Fluttering wings
Dance here and there

Leaves glow with
Autumn’s colors
Life bustles this
Season as no other

Berries are plucked
And stored away
Against the hunger
Of a coming day

Seed are sought
To tuck and hide
Creatures working
Side by side

Nature’s bounty
Plucked and stored
Not a thing
Will be ignored

Flaming colors
Proclaim fall
Vivid reminder
To one and all

That winter soon
Will come our way
And all must wait
Til warmer day

Hi there :)

I have not been around much in the last little while, had some bad Mojo going on here at home.. Things are back to the bump and grind though and I just had to come flitting through!!

I am glad to see you are hard at it still Kikmosa, you have a lot of talent!

Marylith, those pictures are gorgeous!! We have some great foliage here in Canada in the fall as well, but I never seem to have my camera with me

St4nton, you have some nice work there. You say that it is easy, but most of us never have the courage to try things like that in the first place! Best of luck with your show!! :)

I will try and get another few pics together and post them up.. How about some nice photos of my fish?? (LOL.. I am just like a proud grandmother! ** takes photo pocket from her purse and flicks it open to reveal hundreds of photos of fish..** )

Take care all!
L.

The Ninja’s Way

In stealth they blend
With the shadows
Unseen, unheard, unknown
Silently they swiftly move
Cloaked in black
Naught but their eyes
To be see, shifting, searching
Cold those eyes are
Uncaring of the darkness
A glance, no more, and
Paths split, going high and low
Guardians passed without
A sound, never knowing
How close they were to death
Closer still they approach
Soon their prey comes in sight
The shadows draw around
The bed, daggers raised above
Muscles tense in preparation
A cry rings out and stillness falls

“Cut.... Stunt double....”

how do you think a post like this would do on the general board.?

people that appreciate art on the gb would love it. (and there really are a lot of people over there that appreciate art.)

i love the red and orange one with the black drop in the middle.

Burned bright
Shining Long
Forever lit to breathe freely
Waxing down
Struggling to stand tall
Needing air
Leaving parts behind
Cold
Hard
Never to burn
Only to melt
To nothingness

End Game

Waited long
Time too short

Decisions made
No turning back

Grass was green
Now browned

Leaves
Fallen

Hopes
Dashed

Parting
Gone

Interesting work, Marilyth.

It has a certain starkness to it that fits the season up here in the temperate zones.

Thank you.

I just thought that I should bump this back to page one and see if anyone else would like to give it a shot. It's just too good a thread for it to sit in limbo.

I'd also like to thank Merilyth for starting this thread and giving many of us a place to share with others.

A Rose

Love is like a rose in the palm of your hand.
Hold it too tightly and you crush it, destroying its beauty.
Blending its sweet perfume into the smell of death and despair.
Hold it gently in your hand; enfold it softly and carefully.
Water it with your tears of joy and happiness.
Feed it on the beating of your heart and your very breath.
Nurture it in the depths of your soul.
Cherish it in your life and home.
Tend it with care and love.
And you will watch it unfold in all its glory
and spread its beauty throughout all your days and beyond.

Surely someone has something to post. A pic or a poem or a story? This was such a good thread and I'd love to see it come alive again.

TWO SOULS

Two souls adrift in a sea of darkness
Seeking, ever seeking through the endless night
Floating through the cold and emptiness
Finding no end to their lonely flight

Finally in the dark is felt a flutter
A brief flex of movement, could it be
Is there another soul alike in drifting
A chance encounter to be made

A sound so slight it could be false
A nudge perhaps simply imagined
Yet again it's felt, again it's heard
A whisper sounding in the void

A whisper returned, a touch passed
Another and yet another
Two souls crying out "I'm here, see me, hear me"
Two paths crossed and changed

Closer and closer the two souls drift
Soon encircling one the other
Orbits tighter as one draws the other
Reaching out to hold and feel

Surface stretches as needs combine
Hollows filled by a soft glow of caring
Soon where drifted two souls in darkness
There shines but one in love

Why?

Why does love have to hurt?
A deep searing pain that
Destroys your soul and mind
The agony of wanting someone
Knowing that they will never
Want you in the same way

A heart ripped into shreds
Yet each piece still crying out
For that which it can’t have
An endless ache that colors
Your every day in grayness
With no hope for sunlight

Your arms ache to hold it close
To enfold it and make it part of
Everything you are and will be
Yet remaining empty and unfulfilled
Your eyes blinded to all else
But the one they cry out to see

The pain eats at me everyday
Never stopping for a moment
Consuming my soul in agony
No hope for the future left
Nothing to hold me here
Enduring the pain til the end

Without Her

With a cry, so soft and low
With a sigh, as she turned to go
With a tear, as sadness claimed my soul
My heart tore itself apart
Between one beat and another
It died inside

Without her, I can’t go on
Without her, what’s the use in living
The worlds so empty,
Without her

With a word, she tore my world apart
With a look, she just said goodbye
With no thought for me, my suffering
Said she couldn’t stay
She turned and walked away
And I cried

Without her, I can’t go on
Without her, what’s the use in living
The worlds so empty,
Without her

With no thought for me, my suffering
Said she couldn’t stay
She turned and walked away
And I cried

Without her,
Without her,
The worlds so empty,
Without her

Autumn Leaves Waltz

As each fall comes to its end and the colors grow
bright in preparation for their
Autumn waltz
I watch and think to myself
in awe of their beauty
and in time they break free
of bonds they cling to of their youth
to dance with their partner in the
in the autumns breezes that seem to
chill. Yet they dance together in
their waltz so gracefully so care free
as if they know this is their time to enjoy
that fleeting moment of life and it will pass.
And time will pass unannounced with no fanfare
and yet some time in another spring the leaves
will bloom again and with luck and the hand
of fate and a leaf or two or maybe even three
will find that spirit of that leaf they shared
a once Autumn Waltz with and may they be
as lucky as I, for I to have found that partner
to dance that waltz with one more time

“Your Hand My dear”
