Artistic Passions

Love it and yes, it has grabbed my attention before on Lit. My daughter was thinking at one stage of being a professional make up artist but has now set her heart on forensic entymology....LOL, big shift but one I think she has been headed for since she could walk and began collecting and studying bugs. She also does drawing and doesn't give herself enough credit for her talent. I wish I had pics of some of her very intricate celtic type pieces, but for now will post this one.

Catalina:rose:
Knowing she lurks here at times, perhaps this will encourage her to post some more of her work. :p

It's very beautiful and yes she is very talented.

Holy shit, you're GOOD :D

I just love art in all it's different mediums, it's quite inspirational.

Thanks Ammre, :rose:

Keep-a-postin'

O

This is something I did on my computer. It's not as cool as those drawings, but it's pretty, and it helped me relax.

Just my 2 cents but it's great to see this side of Lit having a thread for the artisians (all genres) and the audience to support them!!

Interesting...as I sit here sketching, I just saw a news story where a guy in London is painting both quirky and beautiful works of art on squashed chewing gum discarded by pedestrians on the footpaths. I love innovative souls like this, but seems most just think he is odd, and a few seem quite upset he would even do it.

Very beautiful Netzach. I have often thought of taking up beading and incorporating some of it into cothing and accessories, but haven't gotten past the thought so far. Would love to get back to macrame which I was considered very good at in my youth....lol, never knew my fascination with tying knots would see me being all tied up. :p

Some amazing stuff on this thread. I would love to be able to draw or paint. My best friend is very artistic and I know how much pleasure it gives her. I'm just hopeless at the visual arts, which I think comes from the fact that I'm not very observant in general. I'm much more of an auditory person, (maybe comes from being chronically short sighted) and I am very jealous of the amount of talent all around me at lit.

Most of my art comes through words, and music. I used to be in a band and was the singer /joint songwriter. While I'm happy today and full of confidence I should take advantage of it and say I would love to share some of the stuff we recorded, although its quality and maturity is questionable (i was 18/19 when I wrote most of the songs). But I really can't figure out how to share it

The only thing I can think of is offering to post people the album, which I would be happy to do, but there must be a more technological way than that.

Techies?? Anyone??

Help muchly appreciated (although you may live to regret it once you've heard the tracks  )

I am sure there must be because they have stories with audio. I think we all have our talents, it is discovering them which is the key. Most of what I am good at involves the necessity of sight and unfortunately, like you I too am short sighted to the point they now tell me I have to be satisfied with what I can see as it can't be improved on any more. Some days are better than others and I have always compensated for the diminished sight through other senses but hearing is not the greatest either now so it gets frustrating at times. Still it could be much worse. :)

I'm sorry to hear how bad your sight is, Catalina, it certainly is a bitch. I'm only 23 and the optician says it will get much worse than this before it (hopefully) stops deteriorating around age 30 (which is when your eyes calm down a bit in a lot of people). Glasses are so expensive here! The NHS doesn't cover my prescription and I often spend over £300 on the buggers. However, the thing I always think about when this sort of thing starts to worry me is how shit my life would have been if I was born a century or two ago and glasses weren't an option  Or imagine if I had been a cave woman. I'd have been fucked.

It has been a life passion of mine and then I marry a beautiful Spanish Amo who was born in Andalucia where flamenco has such a rich history. :) Must be destiny.

I had no idea there was so much talen on the board!

The closest thing I have to artistic expression is my pic thread.

Dolf, I think your art could go in a museum. I'd still like a piece for my place one of these days.
