Well we just had 11am on the 11th November.

With all the talk about "war" on the boards I guess its an appropriate timing.

Brothers in Arms

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arm

Through these fields of destruction
Baptism of fire
I've watched all your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

I've always thought it appropriate...

to having our war dead honoured and remembered linked with our politicians being hated and reviled.

"Down went the gunner, a bullet was his fate
Down went the gunner, and then the gunner's mate
Up jumped the sky pilot, gave the boys a look
And manned the gun himself as he laid aside The Book, shouting...

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
And we'll all stay free

Praise the Lord and swing into position
Can't afford to be a politician
Praise the Lord, we're all between perdition
And the deep blue sea..."

I read an article last week about veterans from WW1. Only 39 were left. Yesterday one more passed away. The youngest veteran is 101, he joined up at 15. It's sad to think that in about five years there will be no-one left.

I agree..but we do have plenty of others that died protecting our Country....we now honor those too.

Saying Thank you to the Veterans....

Again thank you to all that served and sacrificed to keep this world a better place.

Peace,
Tulip

we lost our last one a couple of days after ANZAC day.

Funny thing was that he actually hated ANZAC and Armistic day... he simply wanted everyone to leave him alone.
