I continue to be amazed by the high level of artistic talent out there in the BDSM community. Some of the work is truly outstanding.

I am currently compiling a book on over 100 fetishes and am looking for artists willing to consider commissions for illustrations to accompany each chapter. If anyone has any interest in this please contact me, or feel free to list sites you think I might be interested in.

Big thanks
Alice:)

BDSM 'art' sites - and the artists - are easy to find. Either do a search or check out some of the Top Lists.

Thanks

Thanks Kirtsy

I have seen loads of sites and have a few artists already lined up but I am still looking for recommendations. I'm particularly interested in erotic B&W illustrations and not anime, manga or cartoons.

If you see any good ones please let me know:)

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here, but it seems that every time you post in this forum, Alice_Roissy, you are soliciting some kind of off-site contact with forum members, which means that your posts look like personals ads. Worse, that these solicitations are for your own business pursuits makes them look an awfully lot like spam.

I would suggest that you either start participating in the community in a less self-interested way, or consider taking your solicitations to another venue in the future. This is the last of them that will be allowed stay in this forum.

Please know that I mean you no personal offense, and you are welcome to stay if you have something to add. However, if you are simply using this forum as a place from which to cull information and resources, and advertise, for your business projects--I would like to cheerfully & respectfully invite you to take it elsewhere.

Thank you,

Honey, I just took my second qualifying exam today. I've written 25 pages in ten hours, and I'm not going to do *any* creative work until I recover for a few days, at least. When it's ready, you'll know. ;)

Appologies

Dear RisiaSkye

First of all no personal offense taken and I am more than happy to clarfiy a few things. First off my book is not for business gain - It's never going to make the best sellers list as it is such specialised subject matter so is TRULLY more a 'labour of love' than for financial gain (it might just buy me a few jars of coffee to keep me going, but little more). I do realise I did intially post my email address which maybe encouraged people to make contact off-site, this was mistake and I appologise for any offense caused.

Secondly, Literotica is the best site of its kind on the internet and I applaud the way you encourage people to contribute, especially by offering Editing and Structure tips for your members - free of charge! As a published writer, it is excellent to see so many people opting to read the written erotic word and also composing their own stories, instead of just scanning the zillions of porn images out there. I have offered my services as a Volunteer Editor to help contribute something and I continue to support new writers, especially Literotica members who strive to promote sex as something to be enjoyed instead of stigmatized. It can be a very judgemental world out there.

Regards
Alice

Many of these titles sound sensationalistic. I can only speak for myself, but it makes me uncomfortable to think of my intimate life treated as such.

CREDENTIALS

Thanks for your comments, unfortunately these are not my titles but rather chosen by Magazine Editors, as is usually the case. I write an article but once I submit it all control is out of my hands and they are quite at liberty to change titles and text as they see fit.

If you are interested, I can provide you with an example of this which also goes against everything I too beleive in (being physically collared to a very experienced and respected Dom) where a respectful article I wrote was re-written to the point it actually offended me and yet my name was still kept on it. Unfortunately when you submit work to magazines they do sometimes sensationalise things and sometimes you do not necessarily agree with the finished result, even if your name is on it. I just try my best and like all good submissives keep learning from my mistakes.

Thanks for your support :)
Alice

Just wondering...is Alice Roissy the name you write under as well? Because a Google search just brought up nothing.

Unfortunately when you submit work to magazines they do sometimes sensationalise things and sometimes you do not necessarily agree with the finished result, even if your name is on it.

I realize this can happen. It seemed better not to be involved in your research personally as by the titles alone, your editors and publishers seem to use the material to sensationalize. But, then I wasn't able to read the articles, perhaps only the titles seem something off a tabloid paper, and the articles remained insightful and informative. Would you like to share any?

I do wish you the best in your pursuit of writing a book, and hope your editors and publishers will be kind to the material you submit. Have you ever written anything about D/s from a personal perspective/understanding, being the collared submissive you are?

I believe I have seen you (your name) on other online BBs, requesting the same, and at least outwardly seemed to be met with the same resistance. How are your interviews coming along?

Interivews

lark sparrow

The publishing company who are publishing my book are nothing to do with the magazines I write for and are specilaist book publishers - so thankfully for this I do have some control over content and edit. The weird thing is that for 7 years I worked as an Editor (music and culture) and I would have to re-write articles to suit the magazine. Now being on the other side of the fence it is quite soul destroying when someone takes your work and re-writes, it so in future I shall be much more considerate.

With regards to writing about BDSM, most of my writing is non-fiction and there are few magazines I write for that would consider articles about BDSM. I write most on this subject for personal sentiment i.e. personal diary and my Dom. I wish I had more time in a day to write more fiction, but somehow time just escapes me and non-fiction pays the bills. I did write 'An Introduction to a Dominatrix's Dungeon' which was a commissioned article - I spoke of earlier which was re-written - and I have sent you this to read, as well as the edited form so you can see how it was changed! I can't post it on the site for copyright reasons but I hope you will understand why I am hesitant to write on this subject matter again for the mainstream media.

With regards to the book, some people who have posted on the forum have been somewhat negative but the many people who have contacted me have been very supportive and encouraging and the interviews have been honest, articulate and intelligent. I am finding the whole process fascinating and though some people can not understand why I would wish to spend so long researching some of the subject matter, most have been very supportive and offer encouragement or suggestions of further research material they believe will help present informed and interesting content.

Anyway I hope you find the e-mail of interest, even though I'm sure it will offend you. It offends me and I am sure I will be justifying myself for a long time to come off the back of it!
Regards and thanks for the interest
Alice :)

Thanks for replying, sincerely. I've enjoyed the peek into what you are doing and why, and appreciate you sharing it on the board.

I'm hopeless at keeping track of people. But, your name rings a bell for me too. Anyway, good luck Alice.

I'm lucky, I write for a website (doesn't pay more than a dollar an article) but I have complete freedom which is really why I do it. I had some grand idea of educating the masses in the beginning. Now, I just have fun.

Thanks

Thanks folks!

Ok you can now read an example of my writing on Literotica. It will not be everyone's cup of tea because it was written for a mens magazine aged 18-30yrs - editorial tone = humerous, light hearted, NOT explicit!
try Literotica Stories - Groups - Stuck In The Middle With You!

Alice

As for the name...it would be great to think that you'd read one of my articles and my name had stuck with you...but maybe it's because there is a reporter on Sky News called Alex Rossy..everytime I hear his name I do a double take..lol!

Well said Risia! I have to say that nothing that Alice_Roissy has posted has made me want to even post in a thread she started. I do think there are people here that have interests other than learning about BDSM and feeling a part of a community who pursue an interest that is not necessarily accepted by society.

Alice, perhaps there are some here who may want to help you, but I wouldn't be surprised if you do not find people tripping over themselves to help you. I for one, wish you would take your solicitations elsewhere.

A few words in defense

I'm not a regular contributor to this forum, so forgive me when I'm stepping on any toes.

I have been approached by Alice Roissy to be interviewed for her new book on 101 fetishes. I have not seen drafts of the final writings based on this interview yet, but I think it's fair to state here that it was performed with utmost respect, intelligent questions and an open invitation to further contribute to discussion on fetishes, perversions and attractions.
Nothing so far in my contact with Alice Roissy has made me remotely think of a term like "sensationalist".

I thought I'd add this as well,

Paul

Dear All

Well folks, you can't satisfy everyone all the time, but Im really happy there are people out there who are interested in being interviewed about their fetishes. I'm must be very lucky because everyone who has contacted me has been intelligent, articulate, honest, and happy particpate in intellectual debate. Thank goodness for free thinking!

I am more than happy to engage in an intelligent and well-articulated discussion, as my many posts here reflect. They also reflect a great deal of free thinking.

What I objected to was your use of this forum and your solicitations to those in it to further your professional career. I thought I made the point in a clear and friendly manner. I couldn't care less who talks to you or not, or how proefessional your interviews are.

...and you still haven't told me, Alice, if the name you are using here is also your pen name, and if so, why NO search ANYWHERE has brought up ANYTHING. I'll admit it, I'm suspicious.

Website

Please check out the link from my member profile to my home page It's still being updated and a bit kranky but for those that are interested..feel free. Hopefully that might answer some questions for you. As for the name, yes it is a pen name only for the reason I do write explicit stuff for a couple of magazines, but I also teach part time...don't think my students or the College Govenors would let me live it down.

The key to any good writing (non fiction) is good research and to find individuals willing to talk about their private lives, especially Fetishes is very difficult. But there are people out there who are happy to talk about it. Although some people may not agree with me posting in here, this original posting was actually about art in the BDSM community and for those out there interested in honest commissions (yes paid work). If that is somehow offensive I'm sorry.

I have in the past interviewed some of the most notorious Musicians on the planet which has meant verifying myself to an awful lot of press people/Bodyguards/management etc..to reach my interviewee.. Trust me that was a walk in the park compared to having to justify myself to you guys.

As I said earlier, this has been a real labour of love for me, in more ways than you will ever know. To those non sceptics out there..I am eternally grateful!

Regards

I could toss up a website under any name I wanted...and now you're plugging that too. Please, go solicit elswhere.

...and your last update was 8 MONTHS AGO!!! Why are you here? The truth would be nice. So far you've done a lovely job of dodging questions, but fess up.

Why so hostile?

You asked for proof I was a writer..all i did was provide it so i don't have to keep defending myself. All this has been in good faith and I am not here to piss anyone off. I am a part of this community too.

Oh and the date thing...Im in the UK. We do day/month/year
Alice
