It seems that a certain individual not to be named (but the name rhymes with "berdita") has been trying to sabotage the mindless chatter, political--um--discussion, open and underhanded barbs, and attempts at flame war... with this, this, ack, I can hardly say it...."meaningful content".

No, it's worse than that. These posts have actually been trying to provide valid--if you can call it that--information on writing, style, etc., in, what would seem to me to be, a thinly disguised attempt at shifting the focus of the Authors Hangout to--of all things--writing. Like maybe she could actually change the noise to content ratio, not realizing that we consider this, this...stuff on writing to be noise.

Does she not realize that that the will of the people has spoken?! (And what is meant by "will" of the people--are they going to leave me with something when they all pass away?)

Doesn't she realize that infrequent visitors such as myself come here to wait patiently while their latest story bubbles to the top of the queue and gets posted, so that then I can prostrate myself and beg for critical feedback. -- oh wait that was a rhetorical Q-- ?!

I actually had to skip over one of her posts to see the next 10 threads of mindless fun! (so's I could zip off a few not so funny replies to others in my own stilted fashion).

And these so called "articles" of hers are not easy to read: they got paragraphs and everything.

Now, please, I ask you all to please not fall for her trickery. Don't give in to the base nasty urge to learn or share. Ignore it! Divert your attention back to the fun, so that we can more easily pass the time while waiting for that latest string of alhpanumeric characters we call stories to get posted.

(bleck! Stories, schmories. I only write them as an excuse to hang out in AH. Don't you?)

Well, I try not to 'pms', but it was a good larf. Op cit: great handle.

My Mum Berdita posts intellectually stimulating threads havin to do with uh, o.k., sometimes we don't know what they have to do with, but we figure it must have gone over our heads cause she is so smart. Every once in a while I see one that I can post a reply to and it makes me feel smart also. You could learn a lot from her, about what I dunno.

Perdita schmerdita.

If it wasn't for the fact that I frequently moan and whinge about every thread that has smooching and humour as its basest of bass lines then I would agree... with someone... about something... anything. Dust? Anyone? No?

Schmerdita?

I'm not German (not even an eastern-euro-brit combo).

xarrumff, Perdita

Aw, and I know you are pronouncing it correctly too. Mwah! P. :)

I even roll the r, in my head, just a little. Not one of the really long rolling r's, but just enough. ;)

Hmm, no, nope, I don't think anyone's ever said that to me before.

Gracias, mi amiga, muchas gracias.

That certain individual, who shall not be named (but here's a couple of clues: she has a stunning line in hats and a wicked sense of humour), is also too much of a bloody good friend. It's sickening how she does it. ;)

Loulou :rose:

P.S. I could never stay away for long. What a difference 48 hours makes, eh? :)

O crap, you made me all weepy. I'm at work! Good to see those gorgeous eyes. P.

Hey hey, you dirty boy! Feeling all subby again are you?

I empathise. ;)

Yeah, I heard. :p

I told you, I'm not a sub. May I be whipped and beaten senseless if I'm lying.

You look too vulnerable for words in that AV, Jose. Rather precious. (Was it a portfolio shot?) P.

I was almost certainly under the influence. I'm told I'll come down any day now. I still think of myself as that pretty boy, but of course without the pretty and without the boy.
