Do you hide your love for the one true almighty God? Do you remain quiet when people speak of their religion? Do you believe, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth? Do you believe that God created man in his likeness? Do you believe the Jesus is the son of God? Do you believe that Jesus died, so that the sins of man would be forgiven? Do you believe, Jesus will come to earth and judge the living and the dead?

Sorry, but what I believe is that it all started with man creating God in his likeness.

And then things sorta got out of control from there.

hmm....I'm bored so I'm going to reply with a silly responce *overtired*

Do you hide your hate for the one true almighty God? Do you remain loud and obnoxtious when people speak of their religion? Do you not believe, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth? Do you not believe that God created man in his likeness? Do you not believe the Jesus is the son of God? Do you not believe that Jesus died, so that the sins of man would be forgiven? Do you believe, Jesus will try to manipulate priests into becoming pedophiles?

well in that case, I believe! :cathappy:

Interesting topic to see the first time I log in, but to answer your questions:
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.

Are you afraid to be a Christian? Nope, fear's got nothin' to do with it.

Do you hide your love for the one true almighty God? Nope, I have no emotion toward any deity.

Do you remain quiet when people speak of their religion? That depends entirely on what they're saying.

Do you believe, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth? Nope.

Do you believe that God created man in his likeness? Nope.

Do you believe the Jesus is the son of God? Nope.

Do you believe that Jesus died, so that the sins of man would be forgiven? Nope.

Do you believe, Jesus will come to earth and judge the living and the dead? Nope.

Out of curiosity, why do you ask?

Hi Black,

no, but what I'm rather afraid of is that some professed Xtians are going to put themselves into a position to say who is and who isn't, and make certain consequence follow if you're heretical on their definition

to take an historical example, i'm 'afraid' when the Nicene Creed is used to 'screen' folks, an the deviates get jailed, exiled, burnt, or even disqualified from public office, whatever.

Indeed. That is where the fear comes in.

This is far and wide from the type of thread I would imagine you starting, BlackSnake. But since you asked ...

The Bible is a great piece of fiction, and that's all. There are entirely too many holes in the history and writings of the Bible to make it anything more than a great piece of fiction. A great piece of fiction that has been used for centuries to control a good portion of the masses; teach people how to be followers of someone else's mindset rather than their own; kill and plunder in the name of a deity; topple other religions and entire civilizations without providing an ounce of proof as to the validity of the overtaking religion; and while there's many other things this religion is guilty of, the worst of all ... somehow old people all over the world have left massive fortunes, at their time of death, to churches and other Christian organizations that supposedly follow the teachings of a man who had no real material goods in life other than the clothes on his back and the support of others for his meals. Somehow that just doesn't make sense.

So, in short and to answer your questions, no.

Bingo!

I consider myself a Christian. I do not believe that what the product of the Nicean council resembles that church Christ built upon the rock of Peter (not Paul)....

So, many Christians will say I am a heretic. I tell 'em it's really between me and God.

Just wondered what people believed. Not some trick to get people to fold under pressure, but really curious.

May I ask what inspired the curiosity?

If that's the case, your wording is odd, BlackSnake. Why not simply ask what people believe? Why accuse them of being too afraid if they do not believe as you do?

Maybe he found one of those pamphlets on his windshield today? Or walked past the preacher with the megaphone who harangues passers by all day with exactly those questions?

Maybe he IS the preacher with the megaphone??!!

Are you afraid to be a Christian? No. From the self professed Christians I have seen I wouldn't be caught dead claiming to be one.

Do you hide your love for the one true almighty God? No. Who's to say he/she/it really exists. Has anyone ever received a verifiable communication from "God"?

Do you remain quiet when people speak of their religion? No. I walk away as they wouldn't like my views. Then when I'm far enough away, I laugh out loud.

Do you believe, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth? No. Let's just leave this one there.

Do you believe that God created man in his likeness? No. If "God" was to exist, would he have any form at all. Wouldn't he/she/it be a being that encompassed all of exisitance? I certianly don't look like that!

Do you believe the Jesus is the son of God? No.

Do you believe that Jesus died, so that the sins of man would be forgiven? No.

Do you believe, Jesus will come to earth and judge the living and the dead? No.

The last three questions all assume the existance of "God", if there is no "God" then Jesus wasn't the son of "God".

Well, to be afraid to admit to being a Christain, you have to be one.

I am curious if people would be afraid to admit to being Christian. I wonder if people would deny God, if they believed in him.

Sometimes, around some Christians, I'm afraid to admit to NOT being a Christian or anything.

I can totally understand that feeling.

I have found too many Christians think it is their job to be the arbiters of what "Christian" is.

I believe in God, but I don't wonder about my self. People are very complex. Some people would turn against their own family for socal acceptance.

I've broken just about all of the ten commandments, but I believe that Jesus is the son of God.

These days, in far too many places, its a bonus to claim Christianity. Its the new black.
