(Tangent) Speaking of drinking... SO looking forward to drinks in Austin tonight. Yay! A friend of mine is visiting and we're meeting for drinks then exploring the music scene. Very excited.

You should be, I've enjoyed Austin from the time I moved down. Been to a couple poetry slams too. A friend of mine entered and got like 3rd place on her first shot.

Lots of independent musicians too. I get to talk to them a lot at my job since they use the webhosting part of what I support to post their sites and music.

Lots to do this week, since I'm headed west on Wednesday... or Thursday... guess I should check my dates.

Anyway, here is a pic from the party I went to last week. Yes, it had a Mardi Gras theme, but really it was a birthday party the 7 February birthdays among our family and friends.

After the candles were blown out, while everyone was focused on cake, I did my best to honor the mardi gras theme by sneaking into the washroom to take this pic.
