how do "they" know right when i'm in the middle of an interesting conversation..or reading a story and just about to reach that sweet..well..you know...it seems to me that i can not be online for more then 30 minutes w/o getting booted offline....i hate AOL..and if i didn't get it for FREE..then i'd def. go somewhere else...ok..just ranting a little....

AOL blows bright red, crispy chunks.

It's like downtown NY or some other big city...too many peeps. It's made for the masses.

"they" know because they're skimming all your mail and IMs...j/k

it's not worth it, pretty woman, get yourself some dsl...

No shit?

I been with AOL for ages and ages.
Never have a problem.
I connect in the mornin an i'm pretty much connected til i go to work in the late arvo.

I cant complain.

I agree AOL SUCKS

I had aol at one time Always had trouble logging on then if I got on they would always bump me off. Just couldn't stand it any more so I switched to Earth Link liked them alot but had to switch to msn when I got my new cumputer with win XP.

Time zones make a big difference, wonder what time it is in the states, in the morning in Australia?

From what I hear all the ISPs suck in some way or another. I've found Juno really sucks too. I don't know how they figure out when it would be the worst possible time to disconnect you, but they always do.

Cable rocks, I have 4 computers networked, they are on 24/7 if I want them to be. Seldom do I have connection problems. Plus I can't imagine how y'all would download all the graphics with dialup without going crazy with the wait.

AOL really bites

AOL really bites. I used to have AOL and I hated the fact that you have to load software on your machine in order to run it. So, I switched to Earthlink and use the Windows Dial Up Networking feature. I like it much better.

I would prefer cable or DSL, but I live in a quirky area and can't get either service yet. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT????!!!!! Ugh.

Thanks Amelia, for giving me the opportunity to vent. ;)

From a highly reputable internet guide in regards to AOL as an ISP:

So dont watch HBO or else it turns off yuor Lunix and then goodbye Linus Torvolvos! I use Platinum AOL which si liek AOL but si a exclusive club liek the NWA or BALACK PANTHERS. besides Mircosoft si bettar its intarnet ready and if yuo use lunix and want to cruise on the instrumation Suparhighway then yuo have too do all kinds of stuped sLunix crap

you have really enlightened me...that is the best argument for/against using AOL that i've ever heard..thanks again!! :D

I had AOL for many many years...since it was either 2.0 or 3.0 I don't have it anymore tho and I now use a Cable modem...I honestly can't go back to a dial up now that I'm used to my cable modem.
