Anyone used remote control vibrating eggs?

My new Love and I have a long distance relationship, 1,200 miles. We both have agreed that exploring sex together will be fun. Both of us are having many firsts.
We've gone shopping, actually browsing, at toy stores and finally, last weekend, bought some goodies. We settled on a remote control butterfly. She surprised me by putting on the BF on Saturday night when we went out. We got into her car and she handed me the controller with a gleam in her eye. As we were driving, I played with the button. When I hit 3 she always jumped. With a big smile though
I found that I couldn't make the thing work unless I was really close. I was expecting a more remote control. Maybe not as strong a switching signal as a garage door opener or TV remote but the package said 12-20'. She dropped me off to get a massage from her therapist and went to the book store. She turned the unit on to 2 while she was gone. She liked the buzz. While she had the BF, the batteries died. That got me thinking that the included battries may be so weak that they don't push the signal.
I suggested that she get new batteries for the unit and sender. Then she could put the BF inside a pair of pants on the bed and try to get a signal through to the BF. If that doesn't work, the BF will go back to the toy store.
We'll be together at a conference in two weeks. I'm hoping that we can get the unit fine tuned by then. It would be loads of fun to play with each other. I wonder if I could wear the BF and give her a unit. I think that the controller may be directional enough that I could turn her on without giving myself a buzz at the same time.

The best one I've ever played with is the Oyster from www.buttontoys.com . It's a direct clitoral stimulator, and the thing is absolutely silent. Made from a tiny Japanese camera motor, if I remember correctly. It has a range of about 15 feet, and it has four speeds. Very well made little gizmo.
Went out to a nice dinner with a lovely young woman who was wearing it. Quite a sight to see, her trying to order from the waiter while I tortured her with the remote. I definately want to get one sometime. I was hoping they would have a good range...like on a Motorola Talkabout (~2 miles). I would love to turn her on when we're in the movies or clubbing.

I got a remote unit for my wife for her birthday. She absolutely loves for me to control it when we go out to public places such as the mall. The one we got was through castle megastores and has a tested (by me) range of about 30 feet. She absolutely loves it when I hit the high button while she is standing in a checkout line or is at the counter waiting to pay People give her some looks that are just hilarious because you know they're wondering whats up with this lady.
