Anyone know the LGBT scene in New Orleans?

I am going to be there next week - exceedingly "Bushy-run" event (and NOT the fun kind of bush, if you get my drift). It will also be primarily very hetero and my usual "fun buddy" won't be going and sometimes, I just want to sink into community. The last time I was there, I chanced on one of the most fun drag king shows I've ever seen. (It was Tuesday, the only women's night in that particular bar, which was on Burbon St.)

Please, I know Google is my friend - but not so much this time. It seems that all I keep finding in the downtown area are places that cater to men - and none of the information on the tourist sites I've found states that a place is open to women... *sigh*
