Anyone know anything about codecs?

I waited patiently for many hours for a video to download and when it did I got an error that said Error Downloading Codec.

Is this video trash? Or is there a way it can be saved?

Well, first, we'd have to know where you got the video from....

If it's in .avi format, you may need a divx codex to view it, and Microsoft Media Player doesn't really recognize it, so you have to bypass it and install it manually.
