Every now and again, I'll Google and twitter search my author and book names, to see what pops up that I don't already know about.

Anyway, today's search came up with these:

I had a quick look on the site and it appears, as the name suggests, it's some kind of lending library. Been around (initially as 'KindleLendingClub') since 2011.

Anyone have any experiences with it?

(The reason it set off alarm bells for me is that it says PfK has two 5* reviews, when I'm aware the .com site only has two 4* reviews for that novel. Which is a bit weird.)

That's one thing I really don't like about Amazon, if your book is over 2.99 you can't turn off lending. If you own the book you can lend it to your friends and it seems anyone in the world now for 14 days without them paying a penny for it.

Who takes 14 days to read an ebook of less than 100,000 words?

Upon advice of several in the business, my publisher puts only one small promotional work in the lending system every once in a while as a comeon to buying other works. It's working to some degree. The Kindle Unlimited system and other such, though, work against the theory (proving true so far with my works) that you want your work available on as many different distribution sites and reader platforms as possible.

My second (Playing Around) has been on KU, whereas the third (Playing with Fire) hasn't. I've not noticed any appreciable difference in sales going on the Novelrank data.
