Anyone for a nightcap?

"Beige. We should paint the walls beige."

I have exactly one off-switch - weight heavy enough to frikken squish me flat if my concentration is not perfect. Possibility of horrific bodily harm really focuses the mind well.

Oh, well that. I mean, I am able to focus. But to turn off everything and let go? That's kind of hard.

Erm, it's not focus though. the brain goes off line and all available energy goes to PUSH. Literally no thought occurs in that moment. It's a bit more focus.

ETA: Hindu Buddhism calls it the chatter of a thousand monkeys, and it is the noise that goes on in your brain at all times. For me, lifting is the only way I can shut it clean off. And I understand well the concept of "Beige. We should paint the walls beige" as it happens to me too. Stupid goddamned thousand monkeys...

Oh, total instinct takes over? Yeah, gotcha. That happens to me in mom mode.

I wouldn't call it total instinct, though I am sure that the underlying mechnism is related. It's more like the noise falls away for that moment.

To a point, that moment of pure Quiet is a major part of what I seek in that activity.

my stomach is still a wreck. Has made the vino appreciation take a nosedive, sadly.

blah blah blabity blah.

An empty wine rack will do the same. :(

Just for you I bought the Bonterra Chard today, yanks. I'll give it a second go around.

Blood orange cosmos tonight...again!

I killed the Where Am I thread with my odd fawning over pubic hair. It's just. so. awkward. I would bump the thread but then I'd have to find a new picture of somewhere or other. Sigh.

I'll be interested in your reaction to the Bonterra. I like its smoothness.

Tonight: a finishing glass of Dancing Bull zin.

Cellar No. 8 Zin. I bought this on a whim, but it's actually decent.

I have so many things I want to accomplish this weekend. I think my head may explode.

i have a Rodney Strong zin at home that i will open immediately upon arrival.

Some Jacob's Creek Shiraz/Cab blend for backup.

i'm gonna need it.

i think i really fucked up.

Oh my god. I'm watching Sex and the City on DVD. My life almost resembles this episode. Almost. I'm so disturbed.

Ok, the Bonterra is smooth. With the right food it would pair well, although generally I do like my white wine with more acid.

Generally I like my whites to have some bite as well, but the Bonterra paired extremely well with ham a couple of Easters ago.

There isn't enough liquor in the house for the moment. F)(*&ing NY Giants.

i'll take something mind-numbing PLEASE.

There is no booze in my ohuse right now, and i SO need a drink.

The last time I had a ham was at Easter with my non-Jewish boyfriend when I was 19. :)

Feeling better?

I'm not sleepy! So weird. My biorhythyms are all off or something.

Random note - so many pol's spouses look disturbingly android-like. What's up with that? Huckabee's wife, McCain's wife, Romney's wife...Maybe it's a Republican thing this time aorund. Obama's wife and, of course, Bill, don't really suffer from this look.

I need a stiff drink or some advil. I have a headache from all of this Clinton defending. I'm not even voting for her!

I think Bill hasn't seen his hair dresser in too long. Michelle O is the most natural-looking of all the women involved in the campaign that I've seen. Mrs. McCain is a twenty-years later trophy wife.

Word on Mrs. McCain. A wee bit too much Botox there.

Obama and his wife - they make each other appear even better looking. It's disturbing how good looking they are. Kind of funny since Bill Clinton was the darling of Hollywood. The Obamas blow the Clintons out of the water. They're such naturals!

Ya think? Geez, I was startled the other night when she actually moved. I've seen mannequins with more life-like "skin." And where did she learn to smile? Was she a cum laude graduate of the Stepford Academy?
