ETA: 2/3 of my dinner and 1/2 a glass of wine and I'm already tipsy.
Did I mention what a long day it was today?
EETA: second glass of wine, still only 2/3 of my dinner. Now is the excellent rare moment to ask The Mouse silly questions... very small window;odds are not good anyone will make it.
Again - did I mention how looooooooong today was?
Silly question: how much head could a good mouse give if a good mouse could give head?
Inspired by bholderman's good morning thread...anyone want to check in and say good night? Share your mood...share what you're doing...have a drink with me.![]()
As for me...I'm feeling like I need a bit of a cuddle. You can kind of tell when one of these moods of mine is coming, because I tend to, ahem, act up a bit beforehand. I've been stressed out about finances, and I've sunk into that woe-is-me-no-one-will-take-care-of-me moods. I'll be okay. I'll take care of myself. Really, I think I'm just accepting that my ex (we're separated) isn't going to be there. His money is his now. I could throw a temper tantrum about the time I took off to care for our son, but what would it get me? Not all that much. I have to look to myself for validation right now. That is really harder than it sounds. Much easier to be an attention whore.![]()
Yawn...curl up under the blankets....
Ménage à Trois red. Went beautifully with some very zippy fajitas this evening.
Trust you to be drinking Ménage à Trois when I'm drinking diet ginger ale.
Good to see you posting.
Diet ginger ale has its uses. I'm sure it does.![]()

You guys make me wish I had learned to like wine during those years in Italy and Germany. <Sigh> Unfortunately, I'm "stuck" with my Maker's Mark.
More unfortunately, I'm just a tad nervous about drinking right now with this dizziness/vertigo issue going on. I got up from a squatting position at a yard sale this afternoon, and couldn't make it the five steps to the car to support myself until my brain came back in gear, and ended up collapsing to the ground in a complete grey-out.
Not happy. Embarrassing.
That thought actually came to my mind last night (some time after the post): that the only thing I've changed in my meds lately was to add back in the water pills (hydrochlorothiazide) that I've been off for quite a while; I wondered if perhaps the excess water being "drained off" through the water pills was dehydrating me to some extent. The problem is that I'm taking them to help keep my blood pressure down... but if it goes down *too* far (or too quickly, in a macro sense), could that be what's causing the dizziness and vertigo? Bleah! I should have gone to med schoolWell that sucks. Are you drinking enough water?

No dizzies on spikes before. And yeah, I think it's changing from one position to another, especially if my legs are at a <90º angle (bent past normal sitting position, e.g., squatting looking in boxes at yard salesShort answer, yes, it can. Any change in your blood pressure (high or low) could cause dizziness. When your blood pressure would spike before you started taking the pills, would it make you dizzy? If so, the high blood pressure could still be the culprit. If not, then you are right, it might just be your blood pressure dropping too much or too suddenly (like you said, from the change from one position to another).
"Water pills" are diuretics, a class of drugs that increases excretion of water from the body and help lower bp.I think so. I don't really know what water pills are. Did you call your doctor? They'll usually run down a list of questions to figure out what's going on and whether you should come in or not.
Hmmm... gots to try that one. (And yes, I do have a bp monitor courtesy of my friendly neighborhood VA.Dehydration from your hctz could definitely be the cause of your dizziness/vertigo. If you have a blood pressure monitor at home (which you should if you're on the above meds) I would do a little self experiment; the same they'll do at the doctor's to check for orthostatic hypotension.
1) Lay on your bed without your head elevated, completely supine, take blood pressure and pulse.
2) Stand up (next to the bed for safety purposes) and retake blood pressure and pulse.
If your systolic pressure drops more than 20, diastolic more than 10, or your pulse increases more than 20 bpm, I'd call your doctor's office with the results. Granted, I would call anyway, as you're in a potentially dangerous situation every time you change position. My guess would be they'll have you hold the hctz until you come in.
)I've *always* had trouble getting enough blood to my brainSkull vodka, on the rocks.
Most definitely. I normally run about 90/60, with occasional ear problems. Moving the head too fast will easily bring on the dizzies, trust me. Either my inner ear acts up, or the blood can't get to my brain quick enough.

Missing a lot of sex? That sucks, and not in the good way! {{{Huggles for my bookbuddy}}}Finishing off the last of the SnapDragon from the other night; contemplating the bottle from Llano.
...and missing sex. A lot.
ETA: The Llano won.
