Kinda says it all really.

I am not a sport related watcher or take-parter so all this stuff about the Olypmics stuff is annoying and yet boring! So was wondering if anybody else isn't watching any of it?

Me. I loved everything about Beijing. It was like watching history in several ways. It was China's coming-out party. From the wonderful opening ceremony to Michael Phelps, it was all amazing. But this one is just completely different. The opening ceremony sucked, and there won't be any amazing, historic swimming.

I haven't been into the Olympics for years. Too many fucking talking heads and profiles and spinning graphics. It's like the Goaddamned NFL.

Having been a track and field type in my youth, I used to really like those Olympic events, but lately it's a big yawner.

I ran hurdles. My best friend was a sprinter, thought hurdles were for pussies, and broke his leg on the first one.

The Olympics are awesome. A massive gathering of all the worlds best athletes for no reason other than pure competition.
99% of the people there know they have no chance to win a medal but they train hard and go anyway because it's not about the medal. Media puts too much emphasis on the medals. The guy coming in last had just as much fun as the guy who won gold and he's gonna have mostly the same stories to tell when he gets home.

This guy disagrees.

Anyone who doesn't care about the Olympics is probably a couch potato who is jealous that every Olympian has a nicer body than them.

oh, it's there in prime time. the day time coverage is considerably less schmaltzy.

That must be it because I'm watching way more daytime coverage than prime time. The time difference is putting their prime time around 2 or 3pm for us so it works out nice.

at least you can see it. i tried live streaming this weekend, but i couldn't get it to work. i have no idea why.

Not to mention the Olympic Village is filled with horny athletes partying and fucking. Not a bad way to spend a couple of weeks.
