Hi,
Is everyone experiences the same 5 day delays for story releases I am? Submitted my last couple stories on a |Sunday night and they were both released Fridfay morning way later than in the past...last week around 9 eastern time and today not until sometime after 10am eastern time...obviously this really kills my first day reads...i have only 3 thousand reads as of now, while i usually have 10,000 plus....it is a bit frustrating...

Is everyone else experiencing similiar problems?

Thanks
jasmine

Yep, my current one that posted today took five days. Over the past several years, three days has been my consistent average. There are still some 60 stories being posted daily, so I think it's a submission glut rather than a posting delay. There's a limit to what they can process in a day.

Later: Changed that from 500 to 60 being posted in a day. About 500 is what they keep on the New list total.

That is good to know...

My bigger frustration is the story being released almost 1/2 a day later than usual...I went to work at 10 eastern and the story had not been released and when i got home after work it was..although I have no idea when it finally went online...

Oh well...such as life i suppose....

I think that is more frustrating then an extra day delay. If the story starts later in the day it loses a lot of views.

Only if the delay isn't consistent.

Everything has been posting later, so your story stays up on the NEW list longer the following day and usually catches up with expected returns.

At least, that's been my experience. You just get the night owls 24 hours later than you're used to.

Yeah, I've only done one story so far this year but it was a good 5 1/2 days or so from submission to posting. Now I guess the question is what would be the cutoff time for submitting to get the lowest delay?

What's up with the Geisha girls on your latest cover?

What I find weird is that a few stories like 5-10 will be released at the regular time that used to occur...then the rest show up hours later...

Very weird...

In my experience even before the weird timing delays we're seeing now it always used to do that. A few right at midnight/1 PST and then a whole slew by morning (well, afternoon now)

Danica and Marlena are going to be visiting a part of my world in this chapter that has an Eastern style culture. The nation is a mingling of China and Japan in my fantasy world. They're on a stealth mission to try to get into direct contact with the Emperor to avert a war between the Empire and Osiran, the desert nation just over the mountains.

Marlena is the world's greatest user of illusion magic. *Poof* Look just like the locals ( the cover )

Only problem is... They quickly discover that two women traveling alone raises eyebrows. What to do about that... ;)

Ditto. It's been that way for quite a while.

Not only that, but the first little grouping often appears on the New list for a short period of time, then vanishes, then reappears again a half hour or so later.

That explains a few things. Thanks.

I know some authors for whom I copy edit have been telling me they're posting, but when I look for the stories after the usual three-day delay they're not there. Either there are a lot more writers, or stories, or both, coming aboard, or the editors are short-handed, or all of the above.

I think there's only one editor. I suppose she could have fewer hours to give, but unless she loses a hand, I'm not sure how she could be shorthanded. Also, as many stories are posting now as ever--which points to a glut of submissions, not a slowdown in the number being posted.
