Thank you for allowing my pity party last night. Much better this morning. It is just stuff. Not dealing with the true problems like the hurricanes and wildfires. Nobody got hurt. It is just an issue of personal space. I don't like people in mine unless I want them to be there.

do you have cameras at your business? i know they don't catch everything, but maybe as a deterrent?
Thanks. The cameras did catch a vehicle. The business was about 3 weeks ago. Long story short they have enough against the woman that tried to pawn the stuff once. However she is covering for the boyfriend that stole it. They live only about 2 blocks from our house. They did a search warrant but just found a lot of drugs. Stuff is gone. It's sad our town was once prosperous but it's going downhill. It's only a town of about 2000 people. A problem with drugs.
Our car was yesterday. Luckily the car itself wasn't stolen. It was just stripped. Do they still have battery operated boom boxes?

Thats happening in alot lately, heroin is rapidly killing families and neighborhoods at a alarming rate.

We lived alone in the country. Bad people never come there.
We found out it's always friends, relatives, or neighbors who rob you.
As we did for years, we took two month's summer vacation. That year we visited family in Illinois. Our adopted son stayed in Florida because he had a job.
Our home in Florida was trashed so bad we had to spend a few nights in a cheap motel until we got a hired friend to clean it up some. Then a small fortune to rebuild walls, doors, floors and more.
The worse part was all of my sexy biker clothes and my custom made sex jewelry were gone along with most of our old naughty photos.
Our own adopted son and a bunch of druggys did it. Rotten food was piled high with maggots and part empty beer cans everywhere. It wasn't until later we found that all the brown stuff on walls and furniture was snuff. The cans were behind furniture. Burnt furniture and burnt windows sills were everywhere. It's a wonder they didn't burn the place down. Not only was the central AC gone the small bedroom units were on high with windows open in 90+ heat. The back door was barely hanging half open.
The new water heater had been turned up so high the water seemed to boil. Toilets were filled to the rims with all kinds of things.
They drove our nearly new riding mower with a red cart ten miles to town filled with stolen things. The pawn shop ran them off so they tried to sell the mower at a car lot. No one would take anything except my jewelry. I guess the girls kept my web outfits and other clothes.
They set the mower on fire on the bike trail.
My husband had to pay the towing bill because it was our mower. At least six went to jail but we were stupid and got our son out. So the others were released. We found out that group did similar to other people and they always get out.
Still, we got the house updated and found out we didn't need all the stuff.
Several years later part of the same group stole my bank card and in no time went to every ATM around taking out $300 or $500 whatever the max was. We've never had much but they got over $25,000 before my husband got a regular statement. We had very little left.
People laugh and talk about millions in savings. I didn't work. My husband was a trucker for a factory. We raised four kids. It's hard to save a million dollars on a factory pay.
But we lived through this too. In fact we saved enough to buy another small house and moved back to Illinois. This time we left a lot of things behind. We had two cars, our son, his wife, grand daughter and us. Not much space in two cars and very little time to get ready for the move.
Again we found out we don't need all of those material things. I wish we'd learned this 50 years ago.
We really didn't run away. We could barely walk to those cars and motels.
We used to run all the time to bars and RV parks. Now we mostly sit and watch TV and get in trouble on Lit. We left most material things that weren't stolen. We lost most old photos. We brought our memories.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
