anybody looking forward to the new Transformers movie?

I'm not excited about it, but I'm not one of the haters either. I'm kind've ambivalent about it.

Never watched the cartoon, but think it looks very cool. The hardcore fans don't seem to be too optimistic, but we'll see.
 
Hubby and I are interested. He's a little nervous though, since he's a huge fan of the old stuff.
 
could be worse - they could have made a Thundercats movie or something involving the Care Bears
 
No. I liked most boys' toys as a kid, but I never got into Transformers. I liked The Masters of the Universe, though. I used to have a toy model of She-Ra, which I took to bed....

Shit... I was really obviously gay at a young age... :rolleyes:

Thundercats has just come out on DVD in the UK actually. One of my housemates has it. It's superb, in a very bad kinda way.

Huh. Spielberg's backing it, so chances are it won't totally suck. I have no nostalgia relation to the thing, so I guess it can be a pretty decent action flick. I'll end up renting it some day, i guess.

It was a cartoon. Evidently they wanted to expand the toy line, so they killed off a bunch of the characters to make room for new ones. It's a kids show, you know. :rolleyes: One of my students brought it in on his IPOD. I couldn't stop laughing at the fact that the lead villain turns himself (a 20' tall robot) into a pistol...one that he couldn't even use without someone else wielding it. Now if he could have turned himself into a vibrator, that would have been useful...:devil:
 
I think it looks like a cool action flick, but I loved Transformers so I'm not too sure about Michael "I blow everything up in my films" Bay directing. Plus, Die Hard 4 comes out like less then a week after it's release. Or either before I can't remember right now.

Me too. But I wish it was an R film instead of PG-13. The director's cut of Daredevil was much better than the version released in theaters.
 
Being a hardcore TF fan, I have to say that this movie is making me nervous. I've already seen several things that I'm not to happy with. Still, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be there watching it.

I was much more into He-Man and She-Ra than Transformers, but I did have one Transformer. I did have a thing for Optimus Prime I think though. :rolleyes:

As for She-Ra in bed? Ehm, no, but I did find The Sorceress quite attractive. lol
 
I really want to see it. I think it will be cool. I mean even if it totally sucks and goes against the old transformers.( I was a big fan though) it's giant robots fighting. How can that be bad? lol

what I really want to see though is a herculoids movie.. anyone remember them?
 
I used to watch the herculoids everyday after Space Ghost. (Back when cartoons were cool.)
