The Bush Administration wants to create a new post: War Czar. We already have a Drug Czar and a Homeland Security Czar. Now he wants a War Czar to oversee the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. So far no one wants the post.
Retired Marine Gen. John "Jack" Sheehan, a former top
NATO commander who rejected the White House overture, told the [Washington] Post: "The very fundamental issue is, they don't know where the hell they're going." (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070411/pl_nm/iraq_afghan_usczar_dc_4)
My question is: Isn't this what the Secretary of Defense is supposed to do? Have we become so war-crazed that we need both a Secretary of Defense and a special "War Czar" to handle our battles? What's Next? A Global Warming Denial Czar? An Immigration Czar? Are we becoming a Czarocracy?
