Any gamers here?

I loved Resistance Fall of Man and pretty much all of the Call Of Duty series

I wish they made Resistance for PC, it looks like my thing.

I get really annoyed with all the Xbox only games. Especially RPGs like Mass Effect *grumble grumble*.

fortunately most of those ones seem to also be included on PC...Not all granted but most...I was upset about Elder Scrolls and was glad to see them on PC...

After seeing ads for Lost Planet for the 360 I was upset that it wasn't on the PC. It looked like fun. Then I see that it is coming to the PC, and download the demo to find out that my PC can't play it :(

System requirements are always the biggest problem...but it seems that eventually almost everything on the X-box hits PC...just give it time...

I played the demo for Lost Planet. Yuck. The graphics, controls and gameplay were lacking. It should stay on the console.

I think the only requirement that got me was the operating system. I'm still on Win2k because I can't seem to get a new hard drive installed, or back up my old one (DVD drive is a pain in the ass and won't recognize DVDs).

I'm a console gamer. Super NES, N64, Playstation, PS2. I mostly play RPGs and a few adventures.puzzles such. I have most of the FF games, almost every Zelda out... oooh, can't wait to get Twilight Princess! Ditto for FFXII! :catroar:

This t-shirt hangs in my closet and makes frequent appearances.

I play console and PC games. Although I am still adamant that the current generation of console games taste like snake oil. The 360 is the best among them and it's still garbage.

I've become mostly PC these days. My current playlist includes:

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Galactic Civilizations 2
Age of Empires III
Battlefield 2142

I used to play World of Warcraft, but I finally kicked the habit after nearly two years.

Holy crap. TONS of great new games come out for the PC in the next six months:

NFL 2008
Bioshock
Stranglehold
Crysis
World in Conflict
Conan: Hyborian Adventures

Nerdgasm!

I've recently come to a life changing decision. I'm going to buy an Xbox. I've decided I'm sick of having to upgrade my PC, and since I can't just stop gaming (what, not play Fallout 3? You jest!) it's going to have to be an Xbox.

But I hear disturbing things about them. Like 30-50% failure rate. And overheating. And noise. This has got me a bit worried. I'll get it from a place that has a money back guarantee so I can take it back if I don't like it, but has anyone run into problems with an Xbox? Do you have an opinion about them one way or another (the unit itself, not the games)?

Urgh, that's another of my pet hates... really cool looking RPGs that are MMOs. I mean, I don't get it. You look at all the hype and buzz that surrounds any decent looking single player RPG, because single player PRGs are so rare. Then you look at MMOs that just fall into obscurity with barely a whisper, because MMORPGs are so common. So why are there so many of them. Aren't they all basically the same?

Yeah, I hate MMOs. The only reason I'm getting Conan is because it has a 30-40 hour single player campaign before you even get to the point to where you CAN go online.

More companies should look at MMOs like Oblivion. Talk about a game that got it all right.

The only reason I'm not getting an Xbox 360 is because the cool games for it always end up on the PC. I'm using a 2-year old vid card on new games and getting decent framerates.

The 360 has a three year warranty on it right now. It doesn't matter where you buy it, if you have problems with it they have to take it back if you send it in with throubles. You pretty much can't lose with it.

Though I don't have one right now. I'm strictly PC guy right now.

To be honest I seem to oscilate back and forth...Initially I was into the systems for the NES and Sega (there were few places up here which rented SNES games) but then I got into PC games for quite a while...it wasn't until I was sharing a computer that I got back into systems with the GC and PS2...

There's no less than six games coming out in the next 45 days that I badly want to get for the PC. *sorrow for my wallet*

You're pretty much guaranteed to get the red circle of death at some point on your X-box, (we did and I know at least four other people who have as well). That being said, TGP is right about the three year warranty. Ours went out before they even extended it to one year, but hubby gently *cough* reminded them that it was reported as a known issue, so even without coverage it was their responsibility to repair it. They did.

We still love our 360. The only downside is losing your saved data, but how many times have you accidentally saved over data on any other console? Just my $.02.

Mine just died.

Not the dreaded 'Red Ring of Death' that is the most common failure. It just won't play anything for more than about 2-3 minutes. Something must be overheating.

It's still under it's 1 year warrantee, maybe that will cover it but I doubt it.

Up until it died I loved it though. Best system I've ever owned, not that I'm a hardcore gamer like some others here.

But keep in mind the 3 year warranty ONLY applies to the Red Ring of Death, nothing else.

Other issues continue on with the 1 year/90 day warranty.

I used to be a very keen Flight Sim fan.
But them uSoft went all wier and seemed to forget it all.
Steam took it over, but I cannot get it to work properly on mt Windows 7 machine.
I look forward to the New Version for Win 10.

Elder scrolls started on PC. I played Daggerfall on good old cd-rom--single player open world, well before MMO existed.

Favorite flight sims of all time are Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and I guess Wing Commander IV qualifies... space flight SIM. Those were before MS flight simulator made commercial flight sims popular. I had another on my phone for a bit but motion controls aren't the same as a cheap flight stick. There was a good space simulator that came out back then as well but can't remember the name... unless it was the MS Space Simulator (as well) I'm trying to remember...

some of my favorites -

Warframe
minecraft
Pillars of Eternity 1&2
Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic
Astroneer
Ogre (for the old-school)
